I’m thankful I dated a racist — here’s why

Your not factoring in that she was in a white area/school that white washed her and how she came back to black when she got a nikka wake up call.

You know what's really sad.

The fact that she said her family raised her right but the influence of society and the media were a stronger pull. ..

How do you combat that?

Sucks man.

Combat it by not living in a white area and supporting black media and businesses.

The last part is untrue, so far.
So far she's dated White guys her whole life, and she started a completely unknown "woke" blog that's a clone of the 10,000+ other blogs run by people who pretend they have some intimate knowledge of race relations and Black culture.
She isn't doing anything above average for Black people, and she has dreads now. That's it. In fact she's single.
The offensive part is just that her boyfriend had to be openly and vehemently racist for her to stop loving White men. If he'd been any less awful, she'd have stayed with him.
I know a girl just like that, it took her White boyfriend to literally be a racist, violently abusive, borderline-Nazi for her to stop dating White men.
Personally, White people can have her and her shytty blog :yeshrug:

Some of y'all dudes are hardcore. Everyday in America people are subjected to brain washing when it comes to Black people. Everything that the media writes or broadcasts about us Black people is negative, negative, negative. The woman in this story was just influenced by that negativity, which is understandable because she is young. The real issue is her c00n parents. Her c00n parents set her up to be exploited by White people. At least the girl woke up, but that might not be the case for her parents.

Given that black girls naturally play and grow with white and non-blackwomen, I can understand a black girl being indoctrinated to brush aside white or non-black female's racism, but no black woman is "indoctrinated" to brush aside any white or non-black man's racism. That is a conscious choice she makes. As such blowback is deserved. Any black man that would sleep with a woman who has willingly been with a racist degrades himself in the process. There are plenty of women who haven't.

This is completely untrue. Black people of both genders are taught by society to excuse the racism of whites.

Think of how many black people are still taking up for the Clintons.

Think of how many black people defended Justin Bieber after the racist taped were released.

Think of how when blacks get killed by white people, their families run to the media to proclaim their "forgiveness" for the murderers.

This is a male and female problem.

Most black people in mostly white settings have to go through this yet don't have a "phase".
Ay bruh I'm not defending her at all.

I moved out the ghetto at an early age and moved into a suburban area with predominately white and Indian people. My two best friends were portuguese and the other half dominican half white. I was cool with everyone but resonated most with blacks.

I think she may have left out some things in regards to her family.

Why didn't her family intervene, notice or see that she was being negatively affected by being one of the few black people

in a predominately white town/school? I think there's more to this story then she tells us.

I don't see how a black girl could taught by society to excuse white male racism. The opposite would seem to be true. Also, Justin Bieber is a pop star, not a normal person. He doesn't represent the average man and if he does to you then the problem is your thinking. Moreover the people asking for forgiveness when it comes to blacks being killed by white people are usually women. There's no reckoning that a black girl should intimately accept any racism from the opposite gender anywhere but the workplace. Any girl who accepts such is a moron or a c00n.

I am telling you from my real life experience as a black woman who has spent her whole life surrounded by black people that what I am saying is true. Black people are taught to excuse the racism of whites, point blank.

Why the:cape:so hard breh, is it really that hard to believe she just straight up didn't deal with black men because she thought she was "different "than most?

Strictly For My Lurkas...
I still told my mother, when she asked me why I never showed interest in black men, that they just weren’t for me. “I’m not attracted to black men,” I told her as her mouth hung open in disbelief. Shaking her head, she muttered to herself, “Where did I go wrong?”

:dead:
Crush your mother's soul brehettes.

If the media was wholly to blame then all blacks in her situation would be like her. Generally that's not the case so the problem is her thinking and choices, not the "media". Also, what @Thomas said about her only separating from her BF due to extreme racism (with the contingency that she wouldn't have separated for lesser racism), is noteworthy. She's probably still the same person back then, except she started reading Tumblr. Her mom is not directly or entirely to blame. The girl's weak resolve and mind is partly to blame.

I have an entire lifetime of experience as a black man and can't imagine a black woman excusing a white man's personal racism. My mother never has in any but workplace circumstances, and when she otherwise must, so this assertion that a black woman is obligated--rather than simply chooses-- to excuse as well as subject herself to a white man's racism in ANY situation but school, work, etc is absurd at face. It's one thing to tolerate a person's racism in class or the workplace; it's another matter to voluntarily act and be in the relationship with a racist.
Since my mother has never done so, being in a relationship with a racist and excusing racism from a white man is definitely a choice.

You obviously have no idea how tumblr works. It's like a web.you could be looking for one thing and end looking at another.

Funny you out of all people talking about selectively seeing things tho :pachaha:
This. I can attest to this cause I've been blogging on there for almost 5 years. Yeah, there is a big interracial swirl type thing going on on there, I'm just happy the black women I follow are mad conscious and dope even with the fact I follow so many people (almost 1200)...and I see more black women off of that objectification thing and spitting knowledge and I respect that.
