I have an entire lifetime of experience as a black man and can't imagine a black woman excusing a white man's personal racism. My mother never has in any but workplace circumstances, and when she otherwise must, so this assertion that a black woman is obligated--rather than simply chooses-- to excuse as well as subject herself to a white man's racism in ANY situation but school, work, etc is absurd at face. It's one thing to tolerate a person's racism in class or the workplace; it's another matter to voluntarily act and be in the relationship with a racist.
Since my mother has never done so, being in a relationship with a racist and excusing racism from a white man is definitely a choice.

Your mother is from an older generation and stood a better chance of being taught black pride. The younger generations? Not so much. This shyt happens, man.

You're appealing to exception, which is a fallacious argument because there are women like my mom all over. Only a dipshyt self-hating woman voluntarily chooses to excuse and get into a relationship with a racist. I'm from the same generation and I wouldn't date a female racist. No woman is encouraged to excuse racism and date racists. That's ludicrous and absurd.

Why the:cape:so hard breh, is it really that hard to believe she just straight up didn't deal with black men because she thought she was "different "than most?
I'm not caping for no one. I'm saying that her family could have done more so she wouldn't have hated being black.

She said her family wasn't the reason why, and I call bs on that. If she didn't feel accepted in school,

I'm pretty sure her family noticed and didn't do much about it.

this. people underestimate how hard it is to find your identity as a black person(esp woman) growing up in a predominately white neighborhood. most likely these families arent militant like coli posters lol.

at this point i dont know who doesnt count as a c00n by coli standards :snoop:
But the author said in her own words that her parents tried to instill black history and pride in her from the start. She chose to reject it.

kids reject the shyt their parents push on them all the time though. sometimes they just look at it as being preachy...and she prob thought her parents hated white people or some shyt until she had that wakeup call and realized why they did all of that for her...they shoulda just raised her in a neighborhood with more black people..

But she says that her folks were adamant about her being involved in black culture and she rejected it. That was a choice she made not to embrace black folks.
