Your tip is anonymous. That is, they get your information but you won't get summoned to court to testify or your information isn't entered into the case. The police take your tip and work off of that.
For example, there's a warrant arrest for a suspect, John Doe. He also goes by the name of "White Chocolate Love". He looks like <race> and is approximately <height> and <weight> and has <hair color> and <facial features> and has a <tattoo, piercing, other unique feature>. You call in and say I know that guy, he's staying at <street number and address>.
So, what the police do is they stake out the address undercover and see if they see the suspect, to verify the tip. Why? Because the tip could be false. False tip, no reward.
But Lets Say My Tip Is Anonymous
And I Give The Police Info That Turns Out To Be False That Could Of Possibly Effected Their Time To Be Spent In A More Effective Manner. Essentially Wasting Their Time And Disrupting Their Investigation
Now Cant They Can Come After Me For Giving False Or Misleading Information?
If So How Is That Anonymous?
If The Police Were Hot On My Ass I'd Call And Give An Anonymous Tip hat Would Throw hem The Hell Off, And They Wont Even Trace The Call Or Look Into Who It Was Calling?
