I love the way you guys talk about Audi's live you owned dozens of them.

:chu:

take a hike breh
They are crap shoot bruh. I know about 20 people with VWAG cars from "that era". Half had zero problems. Half had nothing but problems.

Plus literally EVERY engine they've made since like 1996 has a serious problem.

1.8t- sludge
2.0 TDI- balancer shaft/oil pump
2.8 V6- timing belt, heating system
2.7tt- turbo oil failure
4.2- timing chain
All direct injection engines (not just VWAG)- intake carbon deposits

Its not a problem for you because you have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I dont

Plus I dont think you drive much... your S4 is just a toy, something goes wrong with it its not a big deal

I love the cars but wouldnt touch one w/a 10 foot pole. The only VWs Im even considering right now are 2.5 Rabbits/Jettas... first VW since the OG Beetle I can fully say is a good reliable car

Have you considered e92's?

btw i wouldn't buy a car from nj they have really lax title laws

When I was looking for cars there 6 months ago, literally everything on the lots I went to had been in accidents and had body work

Another forum I was on was saying I should get an E34 wagon :userious:

They last forever, and the parts are relatively cheap, but that doesn't seem like a very logical or practical buy.

A girl I knew had an e34 540 with a stick, nice car, they had a fleet of other cars and were millionaire's though.

The matrix has an s or an r model that's supposed to be relatively fun.

I'd probably buy a mazda 3 hatch if they're in your price range.

07+ legacy/legacy gt wagon? I had a 10' legacy pzev sedan a few years ago and it got amazing gas mileage. It never needed anything either, granted I bought it new, and only put 20k on it.

the thing with that price range, is you're in a really tough position to find something reliable and newish. when you factor in other expenses that could arise you're pretty screwed no matter what. I hate buying cars.

any other ideas kicking around?

Yeah thats what happens when you go to forums... You end up talking to enthusiasts, that have $ to burn. Especially when you get around the Bimmer and Audi forums.

If you want my 2 cents I bet you could find an older TL or something for cheap. Stylish, reliable, functional....still a little on the sporty side

I always liked these
