i'm talking you rarely know where your next meal is coming from.
i'm talking violence can erupt at any time.
i'm talking no power or running water.

pick whatever time period you want.
it could not be me, brethren...

:wow:

No need to go to Nicaragua, this was Texas in 2021. No power or water for 1-2 weeks, cops shot in broad daylight, having my rims stolen, MAGA blocking/throwing rocks at Houston Metro buses, and infastruture failure due to flooding...

They couldn't tell you because they don't know the original meaning of the phrase.

if you wanna dig into the meat of it...ok.
during the cold war, nations that were allied with the Soviet Union were considered 2nd world nations.
countries outside of the sphere of influence or care of the U.S. or U.S.S.R. were considered 3rd world.
i know i collapsed it down into it's simplest form but that is how i understand it.

the way i presented the term was not in the traditional definition, rather what the average person envisions.

hope i cleared it up.

There's a huge difference in being poor in the US to being poor in a 3rd world country.

yeah, that's a big point to be made.
i've always thought that if worst came to absolute worst, i know that i can find something to eat.
nobody is starving to death in the U.S. unless they are being kept in another man's basement or anorexic.

the broad interpretation of what a 3rd world nation is has changed drastically from it's Western Geopolitical roots to what the layman imagines when those words are used today.
