Tony D'Amato
It's all about the inches
Young fella woulda owned the city. Typical cursed franchise
He's always been overrated imo. Hated him on the pacers before before he shattered his legHindsight is 20/20 in that case. PG was an all star and was legit balling that last season in OKC. Even that last shot Dame hit over him was well contested, he played defense well all season that’s why he was tasked to defend Dame on that possession. I don’t mind them signing him in 2019 but they shouldn’t had extended him in 2020-2021.
,SGA averaged 10.8/2.8/3.3 with the Clippers. PG averaged 28/8.2/4.1 his last season with OKC. Kawhi isn't an oracle, he wanted to win ASAP.
NO one thought Shai would become THIS good though which is why the trade was made. In this day and age it could possibly be different with teams seeming to value their younger players more. But this was for sure seen as a no brainer trade back then.
For starters, who woulda got in his way...Kawhi in his 40 games per season?you're assuming SGA would've grown as much as he has in OKC

Secondly, when have we ever seen a legit star not grow when surrounded by vet talent? From Magic to Duncan to Kobe to Kyrie. You put a dude that is actually about that around quality vets and not only will he grow, he will do so faster.
