Imagine if the Clippers left Mute alone or at the least didn't let him talk them into trading for George Paul

Hindsight is 20/20 in that case. PG was an all star and was legit balling that last season in OKC. Even that last shot Dame hit over him was well contested, he played defense well all season that’s why he was tasked to defend Dame on that possession. I don’t mind them signing him in 2019 but they shouldn’t had extended him in 2020-2021.

He's always been overrated imo. Hated him on the pacers before before he shattered his leg

That was the era where were people valued stars over everything. SGA never would have been as good on the Clippers as he is now cause neither Doc nor Lue fukk with young players like that ( :dame:)

People forget they actually had two max slots and they were coming off a near 50 win season. The real what if is what if Jimmy or KD or shyt even Kyrie goes there AND you still have SGA. Or what if Kawhi goes there and they fill that slot with quality role guys. Just goes to show how incompetent and totally dependent on stars some of these FOs are. Sure us fans make that move but you are being paid millions to be better than us fans yet they constantly give us proof to the contrary.

TYRONE GA!
NO one thought Shai would become THIS good though which is why the trade was made. In this day and age it could possibly be different with teams seeming to value their younger players more. But this was for sure seen as a no brainer trade back then.

This.

And it's not stated enough, but that one year with CP3 did wonders for Shai.

you're assuming SGA would've grown as much as he has in OKC
For starters, who woulda got in his way...Kawhi in his 40 games per season? :usure:

Secondly, when have we ever seen a legit star not grow when surrounded by vet talent? From Magic to Duncan to Kobe to Kyrie. You put a dude that is actually about that around quality vets and not only will he grow, he will do so faster.

If legit star was written all over SGA, he's not falling to 11. It's a situation where someone traded a prospect and it finally burned a team even when the other team initially got the best player available.

The trade even without Shai would still look horrible given that one of those picks became Jalen Williams.

Only reason why I'm not addressing Kawhi is because Ballmer and Frank clearly don't mind him not playing that much because they keep re-upping him.
