Imagine if the Clippers left Mute alone or at the least didn't let him talk them into trading for George Paul

Kill the hindsight 20/20 talk. We f* ked up, period. Nobody can predict a future MVP off one season. Even Bron and Jordan had to go through the wringer and gauntlet before they got their MVP's and championships. SGA looked like an all star during his rookie season. MVP - nobody saw it. All star - without question. No cap, my Twitter timeline full of Clipper fans were pissed that SGA was included in the trade. The guy you drafted is always more beloved than hired guns.

That was the era where were people valued stars over everything. SGA never would have been as good on the Clippers as he is now cause neither Doc nor Lue fukk with young players like that ( :dame:)
He became our starting point guard with Doc as the head coach. Even he couldn't sabotage him.

If they didn’t trade for Paul George, Kawhi ends up a Laker.
He wouldn't be able to load manage like he wanted to on the Lakers and didn't want to be in LeBron's shadow nor be his scapegoat if losses occurred. Lawrence Frank & Doc should've called his bluff. Get him to sign on the dotted line and at worst, if it came down to it, you can go get a star at the trade deadline three months later. There was no need to do a trade right then and there like that.
