in my travels , i have found that bribes are extremely optional for us as foreigners. Unlike locals , we have the ability to pay them when they add some sort of convenience or enhanced benefit or ignore them otherwise.



when i sense an undue bribe coming , i shamelessly play the role of the loud and ignorant american pushing them to the verge of literally saying “just give me a bribe you dumbass!?” The other party normally gives up out of frustration. On the rare instances where playing the foreigner card doesnt work, i and many other brehs have pretended to have an imaginary connection to the US govt, which normally forces the other party to stop requesting a bribe.
