A lot of people aren't aware that they are conversation enders. One word responses, not flipping a question back to the speaker or showing a lack of interest while speaking.

It may come from being natural solvers, you ask a question I'll solve it. But with this method, conversations can't be approached like that. Conversations are like Spider-Man swinging through the city, there's no progress if he isn't using both hands to shoot webs.

You have to bounce new ideas or spins on the current topic almost like a debate. But you also have to have the insight to know that you must bring something new to that person.

As for expanding your topics of knowledge, that is just being a good human being. The more knowledge you have, the more you can speak on. The more topics you can discuss with someone else.
