We should've noticed a change in Hiphop coming as soon as that happened

If we turned the table and a hot Midwest record was out and Somebody like Jadakiss went off on Bone Thugs on the remix the whole Midwest would be on his head

:camby: u making it out to be way more than what it is.. just accept the fact that krs lost a battle to nelly(im sure flabby coli members gonna be mad but idc).. blame :krs: for losing not the east coast
This ain't about who won or not. It's about the Eastcoast letting one of their great legends get dissed by a Pop Star

If this was done in the golden era of Rap music the Hiphop community wouldn't let this slide

KRS One was not relevant anymore(sorry) and Nelly was one of the hottest artists in the country at the time. Only one way for that to go.
It happened again last year.
Joe budden lyrically beat the hell out of Drake. No one cared.
Rise of the south was done by MTV2 IMO.
They literally force fed the nation videos of mike jones, lil jon, david banner, paul wall, etc 24 hours a day. Eventually the market shifted.

this is why they let it slide

1. Philly and NY are 2 separate entities.. there is no correlation to getting offended over someone dissing an NY rapper on a track with Philly rappers

2. Nobody cared about KRS One enough to get offended, young people dictate whats hot in rap for the most part and no young people cared about KRS or his legend status

3. The older NY and/or east coast personalities in the industry who may have felt a way about Nelly dissing KRS probably didnt want to air their grievances out in the public because being on the good side of the biggest artist in rap is more beneficial to being on the good side of a past his prime old school rapper who can't do anything for u

Krs 1 played himself

Dude got a problem with thinking every rapper should pay him respect and mentioned him every fukking time when somebody like nelly said he was influenced by big daddy kane , rakim and ice t in that source article..

I still remember this little beef..

It's similar to rakim who i used to hear around the early 2000s complaining about new rappers not paying him homage...

Typical of nikkas who couldn't find other avenues to move onto and want to complain about other nikkas like nelly ( who's trash anyway imo ) eating well at the time

Nelly didn't win that battle. He was at the peak of his popularity, that's it

The battle itself was embarrassing, but of course, KRS had better bars... and a more meaningful career. KRS could still drop an album with Primo and get attention on an underground level. Nelly is Done

Breh no one is checking for krs in 2017 period.

At least Nelly still got a fan base and stays relavent on TV.
