That show was ass. Ive never watched it but I was just talking to my auntie about flip wilson, she said he had a show with little urkel that didnt last long and it came on during a time when lots of shows were pitched and came on and didnt last long. kind of like today when you watch slideshows of failed shows and your like :ohhh: that was a show, then you find out it only lasted like 6 episodes.

People focus on Shenaynay way too much. It's not like that was one of the main characters on the show. What people need to talk about is how Martin and Gina was probably the greatest display of black love in sitcom history. The story leading up to them getting engaged was amazing to me.. The ups and downs of their relationship. That part of the show is underrated to me. Shenaynay was ok to me... I mean it ain't like he made that character into a movie like them wack ass Big Momma movies.

Thats what always stood out to me the most :manny:

First I thought it was GAY

second I noticed that have our brothers in dresses while the true batty devils never in them

Third I thought it was a way to disrespect black women the thing is loud, ghetto, wears horrible clothing, and among other things I was always put off because of the darkskin like have respect there's sexy darkskin women on the show and sexy lightskin women

Today it's a tranny or as LL says a HE SHE

nikkas dont talk about flip wilson on here....

In the early 70s, Flip was one of THE biggest stars on television. He was on Carol Burnett, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball level.

I know who he is because I still have a lot of older black people in my family. So when they talk about shows they used to watch and comedy Records that they still have his name is regularly mentioned.

He ain't got no work on tvland and bet/centric/tv one so these young cats wouldnt really know about him.

I think TV One used to play his variety show years ago.

Once the sitcoms like Sanford and Son, All In The Family and Good Times came along, variety shows like
Flip's started to suffer.
