I remember CP3 was really close to winning MVP in 2008. Both Hornets and Lakers had a same record and they met in one of the last regular season games. Lakers won with Kobe scoring better than CP3 and that game helped the Lakers secure #1 in the west and Kobe winning his first MVP, deservingly so.
