In all seriousness...WTF was Pac thinking making "Against All Odds"?

Might be one of the realest rap songs....

Not ONE relevant rapper living today would have the nuts to make that type of song period

I always thought Against all odds > Hit em up

I don't really consider them the same type of song :manny:

It's still dry snitching what he did. You don't put street business in the public eye. Like I've said in the past; if this was anyone else but Tupac all of you would say the same. Somehow he gets a pass for this

My dawg - you can put street business wherever you want, you just have to beware of the reprocussions.

The point of all is - Pac was aware of the reprocussions, and still did it.
We don't have to worry about anyone else doing this, because as @SuburbanPimp said,
NOBODY else woulda made this kinda song (except Too $hort, when he made "That's Why").

We agree there fam but no one else that matters in the industry has ever done that. They have ALWAYS kept street ish in the street. It's like an unwritten code that most would agree on. Just look at history bruh.

I just gave you another example of somebody else who did that, doe.

As was mentioned, street niccas don't even live by that code. The reason why most others wouldn't
do that is because they fear the reprocussions, not because they honor the code.

I understand that bruh. But street ish stays on the street. That's not for the public. I'm not saying this was the case but it felt like Pac was hoping the hip hop police was listening when he made that song. There was no other reason to name drop like that when he didn't have to

He wasn't "snitching" on these nikkas to the police, he was exposing them as rats to other street nikkas. If the song was about getting people indicted or some kind ploy for the "hip hop police" to step in and bail him out he would have went into more detail about Puffy as well. That wasn't the case though, he had the feds on him too and the cops would sooner set Pac up than stop a set up from happening. They probably wanted him dead just as bad after beating that charge.

That's street ish & not for the public. Talking about the situation is one thing; name dropping is a totally different thing.
I never understand you cats that expect people to "stick to a code" when youre dealing w/ an organization trying to kill you.

shyt always comes up in Pac and 50 threads.
Can you imagine what it feels like knowing there is a group of people (most of them you dont know) out there gunning for you?

People watch too many movies man.
Putting that shyt on record shows how much a Pac or 50 didnt give a fukk.

I mean...yall defending cats that were working w/ the police and extorting rappers at the same time

I understand bruh but that's a different world most of us aren't apart of that play by a different set of rules. Certain things aren't for a public platform; that's how I grew up & what was taught to me.

You're my dude but you're buggin' fam. That has nothing to do with Tupac name dropping them like that in a song. Real street issues stay on the street, not wax
