People argue that Jordan benefitted from the pre-internet era, and in some ways that may be true.
But it was also detrimental to him in that his legacy would arguably be greater if he did the same exact things in the internet age.

Michael Jordan is the only player of sports in history that I felt never missed anything. Serena's serve, Federer's forehand, at one point in time, Tiger's putting, Barry Bonds during the 73 HR season. Those are the most automatic things that I've witnessed in sports with my own eyes. Jordan, as he rocked number 23 as a Bull, seemed like he never missed anything. The GAWD
HOW MANY OF BRONS WERE LAY UPS?
50% is fukking incredible considering the defenders (everybody) knew he was gonna take that last shot. That's what separates MJ from other so called clutch players like Horry. Horry a lot of times lucked up on open looks.
Bron, until last season, was borderline Horry status because people used to always expect him to give up the ball at the last moment. He now steps up to the plate more than before, so we're gonna have to see how that part of his game will evolve.
Kobe, on the other hand, takes the load on his shoulders and doesn't shy away from clutch situations, I'll give him that. But that's where it stops.
MJ![]()
Yeah, you're right... I remember all of those games in the clutch moments where teams just decided they didn't even need to bother guarding LeBron.
Well there def were moments either he disappeared or deferred to Wade. I admit "Horry status" was a bit of hyperbole but you'd be lying to yourself if you believed Bron took charge in clutch situations as often as MJ or Kobe. Defenders did have to focus on LeBron but it never was on MJ or Kobe level.
Why? Because LeBron didn't dance in an isolation and try to shoot a contested jumper at the buzzer? He preferred to attack the basket and if the defense crashed, he would pass to a wide open teammate on the perimeter, much to the dismay of armchair quarterbacks who considered that type of play to be cheating.
It's why LeBron has a better success rate on those plays. If he isolated for a jumpshot on all of those plays, his percentage would be terrible since it's the lowest percentage play that can possibly be drawn up. For some reason, it's the type of low percentage play everyone wants to see though![]()
