First of all, PS3 absolutely crushes it in terms of exclusives, 360 might as well and PS4 is close to succeeding it and most likely will by the end of this year. Sure it beat the LarryBox but it's 3rd party is so bad it still has a worse library than all of those

And I say this as somebody with nearly every Wii U exclusive on that list

I said it a year ago, and I still say it now. Mario Maker & Mario Kart 8 provide endless replay value. I haven't needed to play anything else.

Wii U had good exclusives but the quality of the 360/X1 and PS3/PS4 games as a whole just destroy the console. Also, Nintendo fukked up HARD with the Wii U, absolutely terrible marketing.

Every game I listed was a PS3 exclusive when it released. Now you're just moving goal posts instead of supporting your initial claims. I know you're bored but at least be funny with your foolishness.

The Exclusive Games Race
Scores Wii U Playstation 4 Xbox One
Amazing 3 1 0
Good 19 6 4
Meh 14 8 4
Awful 4 2 1
Total 40 17 9
With 40 exclusive games so far, Wii U is crushing the competition in the exclusives race. PS4 has seventeen exclusive titles, and Xbox One has just nine.

The Wii U wins the quality competition, as well. Twenty-two of the games exclusive to the Wii U have a Metacritic score of 75 or better, which is true of just seven Playstation 4 exclusives and a mere four exclusives on Xbox One.

Exclusive Games by Console & Score – Wii U / Playstation 4 / Xbox One

Although Sony has sold nearly three times as many systems as Nintendo in this generation, Nintendo’s continued dedication to developing and publishing great games has cemented the Wii U’s position as the home for the best unique games.

There is no doubt that Nintendo relies heavily on its signature characters. Eight of its twenty-two top exclusive titles are Mario or Mario-spinoff games. But unlike series such as “Assassin’s Creed” or “Battlefield,” whose recent entries typically earn review scores in the 70s to mid-80s, it’s not uncommon for the most recent flagship Mario platforming title to score better than 90, and they rarely pull down scores below 80.

Much of Nintendo’s success in these popular franchises can likely be attributed to legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto’s continued involvement in creating the company’s top games. The 63-year-old grandfather of gaming has been creating games for Nintendo for nearly 40 years, continually drawing from a well of creativity that seems to never run dry.

Sony and Microsoft do have a few more exclusives in the pipeline for 2016, such as “The Last Guardian” and “Ratchet & Clank” for the Playstation 4 and “Crackdown 3” and “Gears of War 4” for the Xbox One, but with “Star Fox Zero” and a new “Legend of Zelda” also on the horizon for Wii U, Nintendo is unlikely to give up its lead in the exclusives race this generation.

Here’s the full list of every exclusive game with a Metacritic score of 75 or better for each system as of March 2016.

This is a case study to why exclusive games no longer matter. Exclusives don't sell systems like they once did. We've reached a point where most of the best games in a console generation aren't exclusive games anyway.

The whole argument this article presents is faulty because it limits the scope of what's being analyzed in order to paint the Wii U in a very specific light. It looks at a limited but vague subset of games and says the Wii U is the best in that limited vague subset.

Almost nobody walks into a store and ask what system has the best exclusive library and purchases off that alone. What they're more likely to ask is what system has the best library overall. Or if they play a specific genre they'll ask about that like what system has the best sport games or racing games?

I agree

but breh were talking about exclusives, this isn't a board meeting on how we can sell a console.
this thread is about best exclusives

...why are we comparing different generation consoles again?

PS1 and 2 exclusives >>> wii u

Megadrive exclusives >>> wii u

Snes exclusives >>> wii u

Really what's the point of this?

And the PS4 catalogue isn't even close to complete yet, unlike the Wii U.
