In retrospect LL's verse on 4,3,2,1 was better than Canibus 2nd Round TKO.

They were supposed to hash it out too but Canibus went ahead and swung on him. In a way, that song was the best and worst move of his career :jbhmm:

LL's verse on 4321 does not murk the Second Round KO song. I will even allow a healthy debate about it, but it was in no way clearly greater.

"Make your wife get on the horn and call Minister Farrakhan"

For starters.

I have been beat in battles by MCs with lesser bars. It's all about feeding off the other rappers lines and having the crowd on your side and other shyt.

Bis lost cause he swung a big ass Haymarket and left his chin exposed. LL - a vet who defeated Moe Dee (a whole nother convo. Moe Dee invented the fast style of rapping single handedly on New Rap Language. Won the first recorded battle against Busy Bee) - counterpunched and decked the young Breh.

Levels.

He lost for swinging in the first place. AND LL warned him not to do it and he did it any way. LL had the high ground. It was a dumb move.

LL's verse was better because of how it did it, the flow he used.. the track was obviously hotter, he made Canibus changed his verse and he actually did it just to be on HIS song.. I mean how many L's can one man take.

Then he gonna let WYCLEF produce his album :mindblown: One could say Canibus sold out. He used 2nd round knockout to generate a buzz.. THEN he used fugee crossover records :russ:

These are all the mistakes that we all know about.

I was going back to the actual bars. You seem to be skimming over that part.

Do you bump LL's reply? Without Googling, can you quote anything from it besides "99% of your fans don't exist"?

This made it worse :mjlol:. The moment he dropped 2nd round TKO, it killed his credibility. I got caught up in the song at first.. and though LL's response was weak in comparison. But like I said.. LL's verse on 4,3,2,1 in the context and everything surrounding it was better.

50 came at Ja Rule, but it wouldn't have meant nothing if 50 didn't drop hot music for the masses.

And furthermore.. Canibus was lying his ass off about a lot of people knowing about his original verse. The internet was kinda starting to pop off in 1998 but it wasn't poppin enough to where people in "Wyoming" knowing about an underground verse :russ:

And I always thought Canibus was a p*ssy for recording this as well.

"You don't wanna borrow that, you wanna idolize, and you don't wanna make me mad nikka you wanna socialize"

My favorite line :dead::laff:

I feel like canibus got him on a classic diss record with second round KO but he easily lost the battle because he never dropped anything that kept him relevant after that. So outside of the underground hardcore fans his name basically become a punchline cause all the sonning shyt LL said was never challenged.

Can't agree with that breh. You can say that it was a dumb move in retrospect but that really was some coward shyt that LL pulled.

How is it coward? LL meant for it to be kept in house. nikkas leaked it trying to start shyt. LL told him it wouldn't be a good move and even offered to make things right. Canibus recording shyt like he the Feds. :mjpls:

LL trying to squash it and was going above and beyond, BUT Canibus did some hoe shyt. AND it's not like LL dropped the record to the masses without Canibus knowing. He told him to take the line out and he wouldn't say it was about him. He didn't have to do that. :manny:

At the end of the day less one song he took l's all the way around. And 4,3,2,1 was q better song and it its context lyrically, LL killed his career.

LL did NOT kill Canibus's career

but he SURE as fukk killed any chances of Canibus making it mainstream...the Eminem shyt just topped it off (Canibus accusing Em of writing Return of Jack the ripper...they squash that and Bis gives Em a beat for a collabo then Em telling canibus the beat is wack and Bis later turns that same beat into the song "fukk you")

Bis was the man back in those days..was rooting for him til that Hollywood stories cd came out and even after I gave him the benefit of the doubt and loved Mic Club before he fell off again

Man you guys are revising history in here..

4231 was a sucker punch

Canibus had no fukking choice but to retaliate.. how the fukk is he supposed to hash things out when 4231 is getting airplay and everyone is saying LL dissed him?

2nd Round KO was fukking hot. That shyt was getting crazy airplay in 98.. and it was a straight dis record.. Not a party song or some rnb shyt.. That shyt was popping everywhere.

Canibus "lost" in the long run, not because of anything or any verse LL spit.. but because he put out a weak(er than expected) album... That was all. Ofcourse the LP shouldn't have anything to do with the battle, but popular perception is what it is.

LL killed his career.

Canibus has taken some serious Ls outside of music too. He joined the Army and got kicked out for smoking weed (:martin:) which would give him a dishonorable discharge so that means it's damn near impossible for him to land a decent job outside of music.
