Would this be the end of capitalism?

It depends on how everything unfolds. I think full automation is the inevitable end result of capitalism. Corporations will be forced to automate their work force just to compete. And they'll still need a consumer base for their products, which is why I think UBI will at some point become a necessity.

It's funny. The same people who saw this coming and predicted A.I's and automation's effects on this scale also predicted how many would react to it about no longer having to work. Many of them were right - people are so ingrained to working that they'll still want to work a shytty job even if there's a prospect of UBI.

Everytime one career becomes obsolete a new one is created to take its place.

Hope them robots and A.I.'s got good credit scores. Somebody gotta buy these products. Also the purpose of work is to keep you busy. Mass unemployment will end in violence.

UBI will curb that urve of violence. The economy cannot grow if everyone is broke with no disposable income.

How can we expect not to work when the technology that is supposed to replace us requires material resources we know are limited and steadily decreasing?

Those predictions seem to me as blind as most economic theories. They exist in some sort of imaginary vacuum where oil and cobalt are infinite.

In your opinion where does UBI money come from?

shyt, if machines do the work for us, it needs buyers of the product to actually be alive and to be sold to them. So money itself is basically a man made illusion

I get the fiat aspect of our current economy. But people do currently labor and pay taxes, and that makes for a pool of money to distribute resources from (of course disproportionately, etc..). But if nobody is working, where does this money for UBI come from? Multinational corporations that already skirt taxes ??? The rich who would rather die than help the poor?
Idk, I just legit wonder

The wealthy know that if too many workers/poor people die, their corporations will crumble due to lack of funding. They need people WITH disposable income to maintain their status.
