I'd say Jordan. While both were immensely popular at their primes, Jordan's popularity was based on his talents + being marketed as a great guy who anyone of any race, creed, or color would love to have in their home for dinner. Tyson's was based on his talents + the sideshow freak-like nature of the angry, ,rage-filled black man. "Be like Mike" would never, ever have been sold to kids or their parents looking for an athletic role model for their kids. Also, Jordan's prime lasted way longer than Tyson's.

I would go with Jordan

Tyson was beloved but the minute he broke from the powers that be and especially when he became a Muslim the media was on his ass looking for whatever to take him down

Mj always been a cornball brother to the media.

He was the goat on the court but off the court he was safe ass nikka

Anyone going with Jordan doesn't remember or wasnt around to understand that being the heavyweight champion of the world back then was top of the food chain of manhood.

In countries that don't even watch basketball they understood what the heavyweight champion of the WORLD meant especially since boxing was always the more global sport.

Mike Tyson was mos def more popular
