In this era, every NFL coach has the same system.

And that system is to hope that you have a QB that plays a high level and Doesn't get hurt.

Why has Beli had such a long tenure in NE?:patrice:

In today's NFL a coach with a great offense will never get fired.

All the Coaches with bad QBs get fired.

John Fox is the luckiest motherfukker ever.

So the system is Great QB--------------> Great Offense ---------------> the coach job is safe.

Slightly off topic, The recycling of assistant coaches in the NFL is :scusthov:

Hasnt this been the same "formula" since Otto Graham and Johnny Unitas?:patrice:

There's a reason why 7 of the top 10 highest paid players in the NFL are quarterbacks

ATL…overly
Jay Cutler & Lovie Smith
Philip Rivers & Norv Turner
Inevitably, Romo & Jason Garrett

Your theory doesn't hold weight

:wtf:

The bears were 28th in Total offense last year and Chargers were 31st.

The Cowboys were 6th and Garrett still has his job.

@bk this is why we need Negs back.

Not really.
The running game use to matter and defense use to matter.

Look at all the coaches fired last year.

You said a QB that played at a high level and didn't get hurt

Philip Rivers was #11 in QB Rating last season & was healthy. Norv Turner gets fired

Tony Romo was #10 in QB Rating last season & Jason Garrett's name is always on the hot seat.

In theory, yes, you need a great QB to win & for your system to work, but a good/great QB doesn't always mean job security or a successful system

Philbin has only been there 1 year and the QB was a rookie.

Rex Ryan keeps the Jets in the headlines.:manny:

Frazier & Munchak don't have long...

The Yay
Beli made his name as a defensive guru and won multiple ring with defenses first and foremost.

Beli's teams, either those he head coached or dcoordinated, have never won a ring with an average defense

I know thats not quite the point of your thread, but something to keep in mind
