Don't leave out mike smith and Matt Ryan. I see u nigguh. Tryin to be slick!!!Jay Cutler & Lovie Smith
Philip Rivers & Norv Turner
Inevitably, Romo & Jason Garrett
Your theory doesn't hold weight
Word to Lovie Smith, Tony Dungy, Brian Billick, Andy Reid( I only bring up Reid be us most of u on this board don't consider mcnabb a great orneven good QB)Not when it comes to a coach keeping his job.
By how they play on the field?
to the birds, yeah. And isnt that what the QB rating judges?

And that system is to hope that you have a QB that plays a high level and Doesn't get hurt.
Why has Beli had such a long tenure in NE?
In today's NFL a coach with a great offense will never get fired.
All the Coaches with bad QBs get fired.
John Fox is the luckiest motherfukker ever.
So the system is Great QB--------------> Great Offense ---------------> the coach job is safe.
Slightly off topic, The recycling of assistant coaches in the NFL is![]()
Not really.
The running game use to matter and defense use to matter.
Look at all the coaches fired last year.

Ironically enough Beli has seen his starting QB go down twice. You look at recent SB winners and those offenses haven't all necessarily been the greatest.
They still matter. Look at the teams that have won the championship recently.
in the playoffs last year You're agreeing with me, right?
Ravens were 17th in total defense and 13th in PPG
But, Flacco wasin the playoffs last year
Giants were 27th in total defense and a d 25th in PPG
The steelers had a great defense in 2010
Saints were 25th in total D and 20th in PPG
Eli and co. would've been able to keep up with the Pats, Packer, or even ATL offense if they were operating at or near peak efficiency. Running game wasn't anything special but they made plays when needed, especially in the SB.I'm not talking about winning championships, thoughRavens D was responsible for them staying in that Denver game and not getting blown off the field in the first quarter and a defensive breakdown on the other side was the key to their victory, they held the Pats to 13 pts in NE, and came up with the championship stuff on the goaline in the SB. They are known as running team. Teams didn't come out game planning for Joe to be slinging the ball and he still only threw it 31 times per game in the playoffs vs. 47 for Brady, 36 for Rodgers, and 43 for Manning aka all superior QBs whose teams are far more dependant on them to perform well.
The Giants held 3 top 10 offenses that year to a combined 39 pts.Eli and co. would've been able to keep up with the Pats, Packer, or even ATL offense if they were operating at or near peak efficiency. Running game wasn't anything special but they made plays when needed, especially in the SB.
Packers D wasn't exactly shabby in 2010. They were right there with Pittsburgh in total D and pts allowed. They forced 3 TOs in the SB while Pittsburgh forced none. You see how they have fared in the playoffs the last couple seasons when that defense hasn't been as good?
Saints literally beat up Favre and forced 5 TO. Without that they don't make the SB. They were also among the better teams running the ball that year.
Last but not least you gotta have lady luck on your side as well. The Giants wouldn't have had the same coach and might not have had the same QB in 2011 had Asante not dropped that sure pick in the first SB against the Pats AND they got in at 9-7 AND got to start off at home. Pack just barely made the playoffs in 2010 on the strength of a collapse by the Giants. Saints were lucky the Vikings couldn't hold on to the ball, Favre wanted to play hero, that on-side kick actually worked, the bogus 2pt conversion wasn't overturned, and that Peyton fukked up big-time on that last pick. Even in this passing league a great QB can only do so much by himself. There is a reason that Eli, Big Ben, and Flacco combine for 5 SB rings in the last 8 years compared to Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, and Brees' 3 and it's not because former QBs have been better than the latter QBs over that time.

This is his about how coach keeps his job and what makes people think they are some type of geniuses![]()
Ravens never had a QB until now and Billick kept his job for almost a decade. Reid still had the same Vick that got him genius cred in 2010 when the bottom fell out in Philly. Lovie Smith went to an SB with Rex Grossman but lost his job with Jay Cutler in tow. Marty Schoten(fukk it
) lost his job after going 14-2 with a young stud on deck. Coughlin most certainly would't have his right now if Asante makes that pick. Point is there is more to it than just having a stud QB.People have tried to rewrite history on that giants defense. They werent good for the vast majority of the year and their pass d was terrible. It's just that they're pass rush came around at the right time late in the year. Eli just sonned everyone.
They had no running game too
Don't get me wrong Eli did his thing and the running game was nothing to write home about (although they it also came around during the playoffs) but to act as if what that defense did against the teams that they did it against wasn't special is silly.
