I will never understand the concept of holding an animal captive for our entertainment sake.

I've always said pets are a form of inter-species slavery. Zoos just take that to the next level and speaks volumes about how messed up humans truly are...

That said what if we're the "pets" of another type of intelligence?

I have read a book which suggests we are something to another type of intelligence.

Rather than being pets, though, we are more like farmed livestock used to feed them, though it is not our physical bodies they harvest but, rather, our energy.

Also, I've been a cat lover since a young age. It was only sometime right around me turning 30 that I realized how crazy the concept of a pet is. I don't keep any pet cats anymore, but I live in a neighborhood of feral cats where I get to interact with them on their territory and terms. The vibe is different.

Why? He gets a gauranteed 3 meals a day, health insurance, daily showers, music, physical therapy, an assigned wife, free shelter, longer life expectancy, etc . That animal is being treated better than most American citizens.

The zoo is like a retreat for those animals . Also Ain't no leopards jumping out of trees trying to eat you and your uncle andre in a zoo.:yeshrug:
