There are chicks out here who don't think they need to consult the dad and will allow their young son who doesn't know any better to wear makeup. This is minor.

Communication should work both ways. Its kinda funny because I already know what the narrative would of been if she cut his hair without the father knowing. Women would be like, he has no say in that matter. Both are wrong, But I'll sit back

Man, fukk this. The parents should have had a talk about this. I've had braids past my shoulder but got a fade most times now.

That fade looks fukked up & having long hair that ain't dread don't make you a homo. My older boys grow they shyt out & take care of it. My BM forced my youngest to cut his hair & he was mad, we got into it. Black people been having long hair.

Kind of doesn't matter. Not my child to parent. If it were me, I definitely would have discussed it with the mother. Anything involving my child's appearance has to be run by me and the same respect is owed from me to the mother.

However, there has to be something deeper here because the instinctual explanation -- the dad made the boy get a haircut because he thought the boy was starting to look like a girl -- doesn't make sense. if homophobia or whatever is at play, then that hair would have been cut well before now.

That said, you can look at the kid and tell that his pride and feelings are hurt. That alone says he shouldn't have gotten his hair cut.

I would tell my son he looks like a little girl, and because I was his role model he would want to cut his hair off:respect:

This is coming from somebody who had braids,a shirley temple and a ocean finger wave at one point. He is not man enough to rock his hair like that yet.

You gotta talk about things like this. Even from a monetary protective this is a big change. His hair now needs to be cut every 2 weeks when it probably didn't cost anything outside of products the mom uses herself.

i dont know if this is "real" or "fake or "missing details" but if you guys dont know that chick will effeminate your boy yall fukked up...

my son basketball team has a couple of boys with no father (both died) so i kind of took them under my wing and bring them to their games and practice.. the one with 2 older cousin acts like a man... the one with nothing but girls in the house hold walks and behave like a girl... lil nicca was making sweet eyes at me for some donuts... he ain't even gay...just effeminate...same mannerism as his mom..

many single women will make their life easier and raise your boy like a girl..that's what they know best.. if i am this guy..i do the same ish...unless my little man gay...then i let him be him and drink my pain away...

Culture changes. Hair is a big deal for young boys now. Remember old heads used to clown our generation for being so obsessed with shoes

I would have compromised with the youngin. His hair is way too feminine looking but I would have let him get braids or a LaMelo or OBJ cut

it's not about the hair

it's the emotional attachment to his hair

he is mirroring his mother & a woman's perspective
