I used to love baseball as a kid but you just realize it's not nearly as fun to play as sports like basketball and football and you also won't be popular for playing it in high school. Basketball games used to be PACKED with people.......You'd literally play baseball just for yourself.
I played varsity baseball 1 year in high school and quit. I played DH. I couldn't take it. Baseball practice fukking sucks....You literally do nothing but catch ground balls, hot box and do the batting cage. I liked the batting cage but I hated defense....shyt was boring and you'd damn near fall a sleep waiting for the ball to be hit to you.
As a kid we had enough kids around my way who were interested in baseball to get good games and play all day but you still needed a big squad of people to have a good game. Like someone said in basketball you could just show up to the court by yourself with a ball, take jumpshots and it will organically turn into a full game just by people showing up. Basketball is just more fun...
I was in leagues and what not and that was fun tho....I just hate the fact that you only bat once every 9 batters....shyt was annoying batting 2-3 times a game.

But CULTURALLY, the MLB is not a "Hip-Hop" league and you know that.
I never said that there were NO Black guys from the hood in MLB, just that baseball doesn't want too many, so they don't go out of their way to scout us, train us, and promote us, simple as that.
The AAU, college, NBA, and NFL scouts are like VULTURES trying to find the next ball player in the hood.
When is the last time that you saw that with baseball?

They're more "grateful", they aren't "disrespectful" or "thugs" like American Blacks.
This is the SAME shyt that drove Darko Milicic getting picked over Carmelo in the NBA Draft. The NBA tried their best to use Europeans to replace American brothas, but it didn't work, because NONE grew up to be as good as Kobe, LeBron, Carmelo, Shaq, etc. . .Dirk is about the closest one, but he aint even top 5 in the league. So, the NBA is still a "thug" league for now, because we are still the best players in the world, by far, but just let those Europeans and Latinos and even Africans become half as good as American Blacks are at it, and you'll see whole drafts without a nikka in it.

Setting up leagues anywhere, let alone the inner city is expensive as fukk, especially considering the draft ramifications. You can't sign the black guy from the inner city to a cheap ass contract. It's part of why Puerto Rico baseball went down the shytter. It has nothing to do with "who's more grateful" or "who's a thug." You want thuggish? Alfredo Simon allegedly killed one and almost killed another and during that entire time he was pitching on bail. Ever heard of Ambiorix Burgos? Relief pitcher. Ran over 2 women in DR and left them dead. Poisoned his girl. He ain't in the league anymore, but ain't nobody in these other leagues doing this type of stupid shyt. The day Hispanics have to be admitted through the draft just like everyone else is when you'll see the output begin to decline, because it's mostly money based. Those same African American players that you claim MLB is staying away from, they're too busy being drafted high. Not to sit here and promote the ignorant side of any culture (because we know it exists), but you're doing a ridiculous job of making Latinos look like the most docile creatures sports has ever admitted. 12 players from outside the US were drafted in the first round this year. So you're already wrong there.
You may be the only one right still proudly giving the NBA that moniker. There's a more "thuggish" league nowadays than the NBA and that's the NFL, the most popular league in America.

I said that when nikkaz in the or Latin America were cockfighting and doing crazy shyt THEY DON'T CARE, because it's not in America. I already covered that.
They care when it's Michael Vick fighting dogs in Amerikkka, but they don't care when guys in the Domincan are, because it's not gonna lead the news HERE. There's not going to be ESPN treating it the same way they treat Black players.
And look guy, they still scout White players, don't they? Is it so much more expensive to scout White people from Texas than Black people from Texas?

Dominican's and other Latin American countries GROW baseball players. They have camps and schools where it's the only thing these kids do.
Baseball isn't a game where you can just take a great athlete and teach them the game. Those guys don't get to the majors, and the few that do aren't any good.
MLB isn't scouting black baseball players because, comparatively speaking, black baseball players don't exist.

Everybody I know played Little League when I was a kid. It was a HUGE deal in the hood.
I understand how they GROW players in the Domincan.

How did the Negro Leagues exist if we didn't?
Basketball and football were just more open and inviting of Black folks and Black culture than baseball was/is, which is still determined to be stuck in the 19th century.
