I only know 2 black people that opened their own restaurant. They did alright but eventually closed for other reasons. But I know a few white people that have done it and while there's a problem in the system, I can't say it's racist.

The building inspectors and health inspectors can come to your shyt and be cool, or they can come to your shyt and give you a laundry list of everything wrong and possibly wrong. Now my city releases a list once or twice a year with ratings like excellent, fair, good and poor and it's transparent. They'll be like "exposed wiring, pest control: insects in dining area, leaky windows, bad plumbing".

And there is no consistency. One restaurant can have insects and be a poor and another one can have just insects but still be good. Some get put on a 14 day list to fix or close, some get shut down until a problem is resolved, some get a fine.

Cities have a chamber of commerce. You go to some of these good ole boy cities and try to open your spot where you "don't belong" you may not even get a chance to serve your product or customers before they fukk with you.

This was a classic thread. A shame the videos gone https://www.thecoli.com/threads/bre...florida-cacs-get-mad-and-shut-it-down.986636/
Nobody is getting rich with a mom and pops restaurant anyway. I know black folks who have been running them for years. They live the same lifestyle as everybody else in town with regular non entrepreneurial jobs. We need to look past that step. Immigrants do that as a way to get their kids a work visa so they can enroll in school here and get a corporate job. Our kids are already legally here. We need to focus on the step after that, and get them into the nice college so they can get those white collar jobs. Owning a bunch of wing spots & gas stations isn't going to push the needle for the black community.

Yes it would. If Black people controlled the restaurants they ate at that’s far better than making cac’s richer at cac owned businesses.

That talent needs to create Black businesses.

I can't agree with this. If 15 different black people need to have their own wing spots and 10 different black people need to have their own gas stations, this is what needs to happen.

This is how businesses branch out. Most spots had one spot, became popular, opened 2 spots, expanded, became regional and if lucky national, if luckier international. We aren't just going to roll the dice and start some national chain, or international.

Hell Casey's gas stations bought a bunch of buckys in the Midwest, so now the top gas stations are Quick Trip and Caseys. Happens all the time acquisitions and mergers.

A black business coulda bought Payless shoes. Coulda bought Kmart or Shopko, shyt maybe even ended up with sears except for the fact that there were no black front runners. There's no black shoe store chain by one guy or a family that had 5-10 stores and was willing to go national. And you aren't just gonna be black and rich and just buy Payless or Kmart and have that shyt float.

There's too many businesses that started out as just one, grew into 2 and now are staples. Mcdonalds, Wendy's, Papa John's, all the sandwich places, dairy queen.

Everyone else is doing it flawlessly, fast food, laundromats, gas stations, hair cutting places, you name it.

Na
This.

I believe yall about this and I ve seen it myself.

But if we as a people are serious about competition then we need to understand how they’re doing it so that we can either do it ourselves OR in this current climate seek to destroy their competitive advantage like theyre doing via their war on DEI/Affirmative Action and the hostile takeover of H1Bs.
Facts

Ppl get to sue for affirmative action but everyone gets to eat off Black ppl

I used to vendor in some gas stations and anytime I had to stock up, half of them would be breathing down my neck. One time my sales rep was with me and even he noticed and he has to ask the Indian man why he's up so close. He immediately backed off and said the typical "soddy".

Most Indians that own these businesses were already upper middle class/wealthy elites and very well connected to other upper middle class/wealthy elites in their country.

There are more upper middle class and wealthy elite Indians than there are ADOS of any class.

Comparisons and asking why can't we when they can are stupid. Just like the fact that wealthy elites of other countries are allowed to have so much influence over industries in this one. This shouldn't even be possible and does nothing to contribute to the overall health of this country and its citizens.

This is not true at all. There are a wealthy minority who come here with money to go to school and fukk around and what not. As an immigrant, I can tell you elite people don’t uproot their families to migrate to foreign lands. They are comfortable where they are.

And it’s not that they are smarter than anyone, it’s that they are willing to work like indentured servants, live 10 to an apartment, delay gratification etc. Also owning a business or trying to outdo other Indians for bragging rights is like a religion to them. Kenyans are not even as intense as Indians, but I can tell you when FOB parents get together, they lowkey be trying to flex on each other on their kids accomplishments. What school they got into, what careers etc.

This hyper competition and drive is not even fukking healthy as most 1st generation immigrants will tell you, but it is fuel for the fire.

A big difference between national franchise and a independently owned wing spot.

And even then, a wealthy stem type person would be better equipped to make the investment, than a local wing spot owner would.
Its people like Mark Cuban that buy entire store chains. Not the owner of Daves BBQ house.
A small business owner is not a cheat code brehs, its just a regular ass job. average salary nationwide is 72K. Stem major average is 101K for comparison.

But the thing is, it's not like there are loans and grants specifically for Indians. The same loans and grants tgey get, black folk can get. So why the h3ll we mad at them?
so you think that for the last 50 or so years that Black people in those communities didn't apply for those grants?

what do you think Rev. Jackson was talking about? and who's mad at indians?

This is just another program for them to scam like they did with the H1-B program. Fraud is rampant with most of these programs abused by immigrants. The tech field has been decimated by Indians and no longer a viable career path.
