Hell the fukk no. Just generic #barz rapping, the only memorable songs are Tonite, Never Too Far, and It's Okay
How so? I felt there was substance on there and it’s his most relatable album the songs were about something.

He only really gets personal on It's Okay and Never 2 Far and even those are pretty vague and somewhat generic. A lot of t was rhymes for the sake of rhyming to the point where the bars, while technically sound, feel unnatural and weird. Basically the exact problem his raps have had since Recovery but without the screaming robot flow and sophmoric humor.

Like I know I said Never 2 Far is one of my favorite tracks but "You're never too far from revenue, par" just sounds forced as hell, the type of thing an inexperienced MC would write just to get a rhyme scheme off.

Outside of infinite and hearing em could do a club style meets commercial rec9dd in tonite.
Infinite lags completely behind the ssep.
This comment is made in retrospect and features no cognitive idea about the release in real time.

Infinite the actual song is what shows future promise for em. Amidst biting AZ and Nas like most. Who try to angle for a pass. who debuted in the years.
where Nas souled't out and went jiggy on iww.

I listen to it from time to time. You can really hear the Nas/AZ influence he wasn't polished yet but obviously talented. The production is very nostalgic, fall 1995 if you know what I mean.

100% agree for all the reasons OP stated in the thread title.

The beats had soul... The lyrics was about every day stressful shyt you could relate to... Less comedy bars and just more skill and rhythm.

I hate that people run with the narrative that he was on some AZ biting shyt on this album, I don't see that at all.

The only other time he put out something close to this was "if I had" on slim shady lp. Thats that real hip hop blues shyt. I wish he stayed in that bag.

:what: It’s clearly obvious

Gotta be on some Stan shyt to be that oblivious. I literally went to my brother, played the song infinite, and said who does this song like and he said AZ immediately. It is what it is

Em and Porter showed out on Infinite, Porter was just starting out fresh off of Dilla tutelage. Its not Em's best work but a great hip hop album. Both are many caliber's ahead of where they were then, I need those fellas to get into that type of bag now with their current skill level:wow:
