How so? I felt there was substance on there and it’s his most relatable album the songs were about something.Hell the fukk no. Just generic #barz rapping, the only memorable songs are Tonite, Never Too Far, and It's Okay
He only really gets personal on It's Okay and Never 2 Far and even those are pretty vague and somewhat generic. A lot of t was rhymes for the sake of rhyming to the point where the bars, while technically sound, feel unnatural and weird. Basically the exact problem his raps have had since Recovery but without the screaming robot flow and sophmoric humor. How so? I felt there was substance on there and it’s his most relatable album the songs were about something.
TES is a true work of art. I prefer it over TMMLP.The Eminem Show didn't stop existing.

100% agree for all the reasons OP stated in the thread title.
The beats had soul... The lyrics was about every day stressful shyt you could relate to... Less comedy bars and just more skill and rhythm.
I hate that people run with the narrative that he was on some AZ biting shyt on this album, I don't see that at all.
The only other time he put out something close to this was "if I had" on slim shady lp. Thats that real hip hop blues shyt. I wish he stayed in that bag.
It’s clearly obvious
