- rising gas prices due to greed and gouging
- companies raising prices on their products to compensate for the increased costs of transporting their goods
Again oil companies are making HUGE profits too by the way
A lot of them are still struggling contrary to popular belief as their pay is still shyt to attract workers.

a lot of people are about to start missing CC payments, mortgages, car payments, etc etc... all that debt pushed to the next entity further and further up the chain worthless. everybody asking "where's my money?" and get a helpless shrug in response

if you've been paying attention to what yellen and various others have been saying for the past 1 and a half years it's kinda comical.
went from inflation/recession? no way. to yeah maybe we need to do some things to curb inflation. to yeah we might be headed for a slight recession. I'm just waiting for the rug pull in the stock market honestly

People were struggling before and now everything is more expensive. Rent is high, mortgage rates going up. Buying fruits and veggies will bring you to the potters house
I made a thread months ago about the obvious inflation before this recent sharp rise and most of the replies were dismissive. granted I could have went deeper than just an offhand observation but this stuff always creeps up on a population. until it taps us on the shoulder, we turn around and it's godzilla
edit: just checked and not as dismissive as I remember. people were pretty much agreeing

Even when I recently travelled I've never seen hotel and airbnb prices so high.
