The real problem is people are not being given the right incentive.

Of course people aren't going to be motivated to work when the job pays them peanuts and provides no security. They're no longer buying into the con.
That's not always true. :mjlol::mjlol: A lot of these kids are delusional. They think they are deserving of a Tesla, baecations, eating out everyday, always in the latest drip without putting in 0 work. Social media got a gang of them twisted. We know social media aint real, but for the 1% who make it, they don't show the 99% who fail.

I legit have had Gen Z'ers say " I don't want to work for people" "working is for the birds' "I am my own brand".......then weeks later, asking if they can borrow some money cause real life bills are due.

Hard work in anything will equal results. Many are about that 'soft life' and the funny thing, their realityis often being propped up by someone who actually does work :snoop:

That’s part of the problem but people don’t want to do whatever work is required to become more skilled to get that better income either. This is hyperbole but you have these Zoomers that think they shouldn’t have to go to medical school to be a doctor. :heh: There’s multiple angles for the overall issue but we still need to acknowledge personal accountability too.
Breh, cut the bullshyt.

Zoomers are an easy target. You brought up thinking they should be able to be doctors without going to medical school. Not once have I come across a zoomed who thought that or expressed that opinion.

However what I am aware of is doctors in the UK being peanuts after spending years in medical school.

Newly qualified doctors earning less than people working in a coffee shop. That isn't a hyperbole, that's reality.

There are not multiple angles at looking at this. Provide the right incentive and people will put in the effort.

Sounds like more right wing/boomer garbage.

"We require a degree and five years of experience for an entry level job that doesn't pay a livable wage! Don't like it? Tough! :jawalrus:"

"WHY DOESN'T ANYONE WANT TO WORK ANYMORE?! :damn:"

This is the real problem right here.

This is also why they’re so eager to make airheaded TikTok thots the face of the younger generation.

“The reason why young people don’t want to work is because they’re all shallow and lazy and on TikTok, not because we destroyed the economy” :jawalrus:

They don't want to learn shyt. I try to sit down and teach my kids or have them help me so that they can learn what I do, and they have no interest. Then always asking for shyt. The answer is NO Bucko!
Not only do you not want to learn to fish, you want me to hot sauce your fish, squeeze lemon wedges on it, then blow the heat off of it and feed you.
I know it can be hard out here, but if you got someone trying to give you basic shyt to get your foot in somewhere to get a NICE starting pay, work to make it happen.
Anyway, I'm leaving all my stuff to a Nigerian princess I got an email from.

Profit-making is a top priority in this world and a lot of industries are built around pointless products and sneaky ponzi schemes. Think about your typical CEO. They want nothing more than money, you don't think they'll sell vaporware/fluff to get it? Working in software development and manual labor, I've seen this happen in both physical and digital spaces.

For most people our society is so focused on working that we miss out on spending time with the people we love, all because of these worthless products. Gen-Z has shown us the silliness of traditional office work and gatekeeping, pointing out how much unnecessary ceremony and bloat is out there.

Remember the 80/20 rule as it applies to what we're trying to buy:
Only 20% is truly valuable.
The other 80% is just a waste (and what people are convincing you is valuable so they can make money).

^^ ChatGPT summary of original post:

Remember: a product can be pointblank useless, but if a CEO can make a few million dollars off it they'll start a business so they can cash out and work people to the ground. There is not much difference between most products and cryptocurrency when you trace it back. People trying to be "bosses", but what are they "bosses" of? Mostly ponzi schemes and vaporware.

That's what this is all about.

Many industries to be honest are basically useless and exist because there's a ponzi scheme connected to it making someone money.
If you keep unwinding the layers you'll see it: most industries are useless ponzi schemes disguised behind a lot of bloat (that are also ponzi schemes).

So I agree with the young people.

I currently work in software remote.
However, also have worked a shipping dock with a fair share of 50-hour weeks of manual labor.

That means I've seen both sides:
Earned and am currently earning money creating useless software.
In the past I earned money loading and unloading trucks full of useless products people buy and sell.

Vaporware everywhere, physical and digital.

So much effort for no reason at all. People lost so much time with their parents and older family because they focused on working too much. They're now doing the same with their kids and missing out on time with them.

All for useless products and ponzi schemes.

Look in a storage, garage, trash bin or at the trash in the street, a lot of that shyt used to be "valuable" at one point. Why? Because someone convinced you it was and now it's useless - a ponzi scheme. That app you bought that you deleted? How much value did that really add to your life?

Gen-Z exposed how stupid in-office was for most people and made a cultural shift. They also exposed how stupid the gatekeeping was. People want to pull people back in to create more useless work so they can make money.

Sure there are real needs, but most things and products are surrounded by a lot of BLOAT which is more useless products vendors offer.
That 80/20 theory may apply here: 20% are real valuable, 80% is a bunch of bullshyt.
