How many people are enrolling on a business foundation course? No shyt it is taught in a subject where people need to crunch numbers.

A business foundation course is a course required in a degree program in the business school of any undergrad or grad program. Presumably the jobs hiring people to work in a business would be people with business degrees, which is my point.
It doesn't exist everywhere which is the point that matters. It is very disingenuous to act like it is a gen z problem when the majority of people pick these things up on a need to know basis.

I'm talking about Gen Z people - because presumably the young people you are hiring would have business degrees. All jobs have on the job training.

The second paragraph is a personality issue found in each generation. It is easy to focus on young people but the reality is there are plenty of older heads stuck in this "I did things this way and will continue doing things this way mentality".

I'm not disagreeing with you - I'm speaking on younger people because that is the topic of this thread.

One thing i've seen from these people born post 2000....is that because their parents literally did not raise them to be adults.... they're coping with entering a world where they're expected to have basic life/adult skills and coming to terms with the fact that you literally have zero redeemable skills after spending 18 years not knowing you weren't prepared for life is a lot for many of them.

You find out that these kids be on the job, and struggle with many things that your parents taught you about before you were anywhere near adulthood.

They’re not complaining, they’re using them.

Nobody wants to bust their ass for nothing, I saw it first hand. Dudes were job hopping just to get more money and experience on their resume.. thats it

Then the company randomly let people go left and right without any real reason or cause.. just over budget politics, so why should they bust their ass for that?
I completely agree. I was referring to the lazier, more idealistic types who seem like they'll never be happy.

I'm a middle manager with no real power but have a team under me. I understand that I need to tow the company line to a certain extent, but I will not look my staff in the eyes and tell them that returning to office 4 days a week is going to benefit them in any way. They see right through it, I expect half of them to leave and shyt, I'm trying to leave too lol

Old people have been complaining about young people since ancient times.

Americans work longer hours and harder than pretty much any country on the planet. In France if you try to lengthen the work week over 36 hours they riot.

Americans been getting conned and Zennials are just the first to wake up to it.

How you are in a country with near unlimited natural resources and habitable space yet unable to guarantee quality of life for every citizen if they don’t work 50 hours a week. :mjlol:

I have a job, but I feel like I should be paid more. I mean it’s fair, but I got a family so I gotta always be on the lookout for the most secure higher paying job in my field, so I keep my profile on indeed and reply if some shyt sounds interesting. How about somebody contacted me in regards to a job that literally seemed perfect. Higher paying and better location. …

but when I asked about health insurance they said I have to be there three months. I never even heard of that shyt for tech. She said the reason why was because of the high salary and all the perks they provide. bytch I have kids and a wife. I can not wait that long. :aicmon: These jobs don’t give a fukk about you and think they can finesse you. They will always find a way

the one surprising thing i've seen multiple times tho, is gen z that they lack technological skills...make sense, playing on an app isn't tech skills
This probably will get worse with GenAI taking over. Why learn technical skills when it's all being automated through prompts and LLMs?

There are definitely some lazy complainers but imo, thats been every generation especially with white folk.

But thats kinda why I liked working with military or dudes that served at some point. To us, it was about getting shyt accomplished. We were used to bullshyt but we did it anyway and got the job done and knew what bullshyt to tolerate. I was quick to cuss a manager out once I saw how these clowns tried to play me.

I in particular did not like wasting my time and over complicating things where other people purposely tried to make simple shyt complicated to give themselves “job security”.. and the ones who actually did shyt were so overworked because they weren’t willing to pay people or pay for more help.

I even offered to take on dual roles to help get shyt ACCOMPLISHED but was turned down because they didn’t want to cross train and didn’t want to pay. Even tried to move laterally within the company but those same p*ssy ass managers and “leads” didn’t like the way I talked back to them or did the job my way (which actually worked) and threw dirt on my name every chance they got. My boy was the Program Manager and would literally forward the texts the sent him complaining about any little thing I did.. even if it’s not sending an email (because why would I send a mass email when I can talk to the team responsible directly?)

Middle management just kept stacking bullshyt and projects on the real workers to the point where they stopped caring and would do what they can when they can, refusing to be stressed out because of management (who did nothing but schedule useless ass meetings that wasted everyones time) tried to act like they were doing shyt but were even too scared to be upfront with the ACIO and CIO.

What young person is really going to want to go through that?

And young folks are seeing it sooner… these companies are always trying to cut corners and get over on the people… they don’t give af about you as a person.

Then they’ll lay you off with the quickness just over “budgets” or not promote you even though you’ve been there for years and with inflation increasing.

I actually had a company try to get over on fringe benefits pay to the point where the Department of Labor stepped in and fukked them up for it.

shyt companies ran by shyt people and they’re mad Gen Z not thrilled to be there or go through that.

I watched a company lay my mother off in order to try to outsource their IT to some random company in India, only to have that backfire and they came running back to her and she told them to fukk off. A very large and popular company at that.

Not going to front, Gen X and early Millenials kissed the ring.

Late Millenials and Gen Zers basically said this was dumb af.

In a few years their impact will really be felt for the best, for all Americans.

Job-hopping, openly discussing salary, remote or nothing, etc. and being so upfront about it basically blew up the spot regarding the sham about "Loyalty", "being professional", "working hard", etc. Basically the shyt nobody was enjoying and was unnecessary.

Literally said cut the crap, "fukk you, Pay me."

Every generation thinks the one after them is lazy. It's been going on forever and is nothing new.

I agree that working yourself into an early grave is not the move anymore especially these days when we can see better than ever how other people in different countries are living.

America is primed for a political refresh. The old cacs in charge need to retire and young blood needs to come in and start making policy decisions based on facts and not feelings. It's a fact that people in Scandinavian countries have less crime, less pollution in their cities, happier life satisfaction, better educated children and happier children. There's no reason America can't copy their policies but it has to start at a local level. People need to vote for the kind of policies that reign in the power of corporations. When you watch the news you're getting the point of view of your managers at work you're getting the topics they care about. So people end up getting brainwashed into thinking working 60 hours a week with 2 weeks a year paid time off and a max of 3 months maternity leave is normal and not a bad thing.

The real problem is people are not being given the right incentive.

Of course people aren't going to be motivated to work when the job pays them peanuts and provides no security. They're no longer buying into the con.

when I was 16, I made peanuts. I wasn't expecting to get rich off my part time job working in a grocery store :aicmon:
