We literally hired 100 people last year a good portion with literally zero experience. Just knowledgeable with excel, math, and enthusiastic about sports/sports betting and willing to learn what goes into the trade.

For the last 3 years I've been HAMMERING all the under 30 people I know to become proficient in Excel. I mean not even advanced stuff - just knowing how to make charts and pivot tables.

There are so many jobs where having skills in Excel gets you to the interview by itself. It's not even difficult and you aren't expected to know 1000 formulas but some people just dont want to take the time to learn.

I'm a millennial that does deal with Gen Z and yes they are entitled and like to challenge authority at my job. What they don't seem to understand is they can make direct changes if they work for a mom and pops business as they can directly talk to the owners but not in a layered corporation. This is something they don't seem to understand. They feel they are smarter then the people above them that created a structure that resulted in a multi billion dollar company. They don't think they have to start from the bottom up and grow with the company until they have the ability to be in the position to make changes. They want fast track access to make big time decisions. They are also difficult to deal with because they are more sensitive and cannot take basic criticism which results them reporting corporate concerns on their coworkers and management. Conflict resolution doesn't exist. They also expose these conflicts on social media which causes work place conflicts because they publish everything online.

With that said they are extremely creative and hope they get a reality check early on to tap into their true potential. They are not dumb but just don't care to listen to folks that are experienced in life. They go 0 to 100 emotionally and if they can slow it down and actually listen this can be a special generation that can accomplish a lot of things.
If a reality check means hoping they conform then hell no I hope they don't. They're the only generation to recognize the game is rigged, and the only one that's bold enough to hold their nuts and say "fukk you pay me". Not going to work, or using a job for what they need and while half-assing is a radical act of rebellion, and it IS making changes. They're behavior extreme enough to cause people to panic and post articles like the one in the op at least :pachaha: Forcing a discussion on work life balance in this country is something at the end of the day. IMO Gen Z is doing a lot of heavy lifting for every other demographic by demanding shyt and actually using their labor for leverage :salute:

I look forward to the changes they'll make once they're old enough to enter into the political world. They're probably the most radical generation we've seen in a while.

Honestly this is a very complicated issue. I don't blame them for not wanting to work but are you finding another way to supplement the income? Are you relying on your parents, what happens if they pass away? What happens when you reach retirement age? If social security is still solvent you won't be able to draw from it

This...I agree with the overall sentiment I'm on my journey myself to getting out of the workforce, but I actually have a plan and I'm building up my revenue streams while still working to supplement my other hustles.

There seems to be a lot of people flat out saying they aren't going to work whilst having no other solid income.
Just hoping one day they can pop off on Youtube/Twitch or become an influencer or some shyt :francis:

The real problem is people are not being given the right incentive.

Of course people aren't going to be motivated to work when the job pays them peanuts and provides no security. They're no longer buying into the con.

This. The internet and social media helps the youth have more access to information than ever before. They peep game. Thry know about the rat race, about CEOs making 100x more than the avg worker. They see the scam in working like a slave with no life. The lies by government, business owners, etc. thry see their parents working through recessions and treated like crap. Thry also see how working hard is just a scam. Working smart is a much better strategy.

Their innocence has also been taken advantage of. I get why they are how thry are.

Hard times are when a man has posted to a message board 50,000 times - 50,000 times!! they give him some warning points, throw him in bushes, and say "hey we decided you have nothing to offer, daddy" Now thats hard times!!

Sounds like more right wing/boomer garbage.

"We require a degree and five years of experience for an entry level job that doesn't pay a livable wage! Don't like it? Tough! :jawalrus:"

"WHY DOESN'T ANYONE WANT TO WORK ANYMORE?! :damn:"
My first job out of college payed me 28k in 2003. I make almost 225k today and was at 100k by 28. I say that to say get in, get better, get paid. And 28k in 2003 had me still living in the pj’s

Here's how you know this shyt is garbage

'In the study published by Resume Builder, nearly 75% of managers and business leaders surveyed say they find Gen Zs to be lazy, unmotivated, lack technological skills, and lack discipline.'

Gen Z, the generation that grew up with tech everything "lacks technological skills" straight up fukking lies :mjlol:

Get out of my fukking face with that nonsense
As usual You're an imbecile, technological skills mean things like using using MS programs or configuring the UI which a lot of them can't do as they spend most of their time on phones.

Let them be lazy, they will be the first generation to never own anything at all

The only saving grace is that once boomers die out and GenX and us Xennials are gone they can inherit our wealth. They’ll be in their 60’s when that happens though :pachaha:

This will be the first Gen en masse to not own houses or cars outright because they got fkd by the system and are revolting where they can by not trying to put in any work. It’s a viscous chicken/egg scenario but I’m glad I’m not in it

My sister and I are separated by 16 months and it’s amazing how far apart we are in our lives to this point :wow:

no generation got their "bag" at their 1st job. People keep looking at the end results of hard work, and not the total picture. Numerous sources show people don't hit their financial stride until their 30s. Generation z and part of the millennials want that financial stride in their 20s. I can't knock anyone who wants to move the needle, but don't dump on boomers and gen X like they came out of high school making 6 figures.
