nikkas just quote shyt they hear off ESPN blindly. I get into it all the time with nikkas in here over this.

I've never heard that Bortles can't read a defense.

I don't hear about Dalton not being able to read a defense.

Never heard Foles called a system QB, runs a gimmick offense or can't read a defense

Never heard that about Shaub and most of the dink and dunk mediocre back up white qbs in the league.

It's not about being shyt on. It's more how the media implies that "certain" QBs are mentally incapable playing the position; they just throw to "wide open" 1st reads or run. How many For other guys it's "bad throw" "he's a gunslinger " "he's still learning the offense" "forcing it in there" "the defense made a play". But the other ones it's he flat out can't play and that assumption is made very quickly.

I'm a Redskins fan. In at least 3 different points of this season people were calling it a career on Robert. Both on here and in sports media. He's 24 and had a top 3 rookie season ever and people were trying to close the book on his career in week 2 from a ankle injury. :what:

And don't get me started on the ESPN segments. I saw a one on Kaep recently where they cherrypick one of their stats like "Since week ___ " so they can push narratives along. But on the other end of the spectrum EVERY YEAR we get a "Alex Smith: Not just a game manager" BSPN segment and now "Ryan tannehill is underrated" is becoming a staple.

I just see the bullshyt :manny:
The media is dumb as shyt

They were all saying Brady was done

:pachaha:well I ain't gonna act like I wasn't :dj2: when they were struggling. I think most of the league been praying on their downfall for a while now

Ever since they beat us 52-7 back in 06 I been holding this grudge. Most disrespectful game I seen in my life

Dudes here eat it up.

Imagine if Cam could not cmoplete a TD pass to a receiver all season? On 4th down to win the game was throwing balls away or running out of bounds? Turning Dwayne Bowe into a bum. Putting up numbers off of screens? Could you imagine the field day they'd have with him?

The media tries to tell you how to think. Last year Kaep was the 2nd coming. 2 years ago RG3 was a future HOFer. Now, they're bums. What? How? That media agenda is a mahfukka.

Espn and the media has so much influence on these sheep they'll follow what they say.(but that goes for a lot of things in life politics, sports, etc.)

Before Trent Dilfer said it I never heard much about Kap being a 'remedial and one read' qb now everyone says it

Dilfer dropped "Soul of the Quarterback" :mjlol: He talks about QBs like they are some mythical beasts.

Sports media forever changed once producers realize how effective :troll: hot takes were.

Jameis can't read defenses :troll:
He doesn't appear to be all there :troll:
I think Jameis is gonna tear it up in the league. Dude reads defenses well and puts the ball exactly where it needs to be. The only reason you don't hear his name as the prototypical NFL QB is because he's black.

He might be a sociopath though.:usure:

Damn I swear I was gonna make this exact thread today, mainly about a certain Steve Young comment that he keeps repeating. Do ya'll really buy that shyt he's selling about playing quarterback being equal law school/grad school/ advanced calculus? It just seems like an unnecessary way to put QB's on an even higher pedestal that they don't deserve...just like the bullshyt idea of a QB being a "CEO on the field".

Steve Young doesn't take in to account huge factors in his analogy-

Teaching: If learning QB at a high level is equivalent to getting a degree, then who is doing the teaching? Usually its a QB coach or Offensive Coordinator who either failed at the position himself or never played it at all. So how is that person qualified to teach "law school"?

Learning styles: everybody doesn't process information the same way in any school but all QBs are expected to practice and prepare the same way?

Outcomes: How do Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck both get A's in this hypothetical class even though one has 14 picks and one has 5? What is the law school equivalent of an interception? Theres many ways to be a great or a bad quarterback. Its not like they all take the same test at the end of the year to see who is the best...

Brett Favre: Clearly not a smart man, same could be said of a lot of other players and coaches especially

Its a bullshyt statement that doesn't stand up to even a little bit of scrutiny, but the so called genius Steve Young keeps repeating it :camby:...

I don't see how that's helping anyone but the team that might draft him 3rd instead of him being taken 1st. :sas2:

I'm not talking about his off the field troubles. I'm talking about the way he interacts with people. I think he's autistic or something.

That doesn't have shyt to do with how good he'll be as a QB though. I hate people comparing his ass to Manziel. Jameis is a fukking protypical pro-style QB who is probably the most pro ready QB since Luck. Manziel's an extremely talented backyard QB.
