All social media apps have a life span. History repeats from them hi5, myspace, blackplanet, facebook days. Hell I don't know no one my age who still updates their facebook. Only my mom and dad generation still on it like that (Besides if you looking for ratchet ish like brothazay). My nieces and nephew are just youtube and tiktok they don't care about instagram

I doubt it. They aren't as good as Tiktok with innovating and their algorithm, but they do a pretty good job of updating with new features when something becomes popular on other platforms.

IG isn't dead, but it's definitely not people-driven anymore. Its like an advertising app. Its like if TV was a picture/short video app.

A lot of people stopped posting regularly. Facebook killed Instagrams top status. Been in decline every since they bought it.

The algorithm change and the perception of being a “Highlight Reel” has made it lose its’ appeal.

when they first come onto the scene, it's free and seamless, and AD FREE, they need user numbers to go up, and they do. But, once someone has an app and it becomes part of their daily life, they are less likely to delete it and so they introduce ads. Tweak the algorithim.
then it becomes less popular. people move to a new one, which does the same thing.

IG really been trash and vapid asf for the last few years. The last two reasons to have IG is like ya homies from back in the day: Either dead or in jail. Tiktok really got the juice now. IG is Tumblr/Pinterest status, more of a digital scrapbook/vision board now
