When are idiots going to stop trying to appear intelligent through DC movies or movies in general it's starting to get embarassing.

But in all seriousness, the market. From a major blockbuster like Avengers or Justice League, to a minor league flick like Shazaam or Ant-Man..

Blade was never considered a comic book movie, even though it was a comic book character, because of how it was marketed (not to mention most people didn't know he was a comic book character in the first place.

This Joker movie doesn't fit into any of those molds because of how its being marketed and introduced. Not to mention, the director/writers are going out of their way to differentiate it from the typical comic book movie.

I kinda wish this was an original flick without the DC elements. The cast is stong, and it looks like it could be a compelling story, but to sell it, they had to make fit it into the "comic book" genre which sucks.
So... you’re saying a typical comic book movie involves superpowers and capes. So in your opinion Road To Perdition, V For Vendetta, and History Of Violence aren’t comic book movies even though they’re adaptions of comic books?

It's not even a Joker movie.

It takes elements from comic book characters, but it doesn't follow the comic books at all. Not to mention, the writers and directors even said it.

So while it will probably get critical acclaim, simple minded people with try to lump it in with Shazaam, Spiderman, Deadpool or Avengers :snoop:

The genre is so strong that they will make normal movies and shows, but throw in comicbook elements to sell tickets.
you put it well.

fools kept waiting on different angles on those trailers to see that selling point like they might catch an action sequence that will pull them in.

:laff:

this ain't that
