Timbaland and The Neptunes aren't "R&B guys". Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis are R&B guys. Darkchild is an R&B guy. R&B guys don't produce Hip Hop. They may have a couple of Hip Hop joints under their belts, but they essentially produce R&B music. You'd hardly find them helming an album that's fully or predominantly Hip Hop.

I'm not an R&B guy. I listen to and like R&B, but it's mainly Hip Hop that I listen to.

I remember the first time I heard "Money, Cash, Hoes". Headphones on, walking down Amsterdam Ave, in NY. I lost my mind. First thing I did was check the credits to see who made the track. This was like '98, so beats didn't sound like that yet. I thought it was dope as hell.

But Swizz had crazy output back then, and I think he kinda burned himself out. For a minute, it was sounding like he was trying to switch his sound up a bit, but he's not really on the level of the greats who can diversify and give you crazy variety with soundscapes, like a Tim or Neptunes. So he kinda got played out when the sound stopped being what people wanted to hear. Kanye, Just Blaze, Heatmakerz and dudes like that kinda retired the Swizz's and Rockwilder's of the game. Things changed quick, and that sound got ushered out. But he definitely had a lot of dope shyt before that happened.

Like I said before if you personally despise Swizz its whatever , but rewriting history just because you don't like him is corny breh

that does happen with him, i think when your a producer and become a personality as well (Timbaland, Pharrell, Mannie) people go past the music and get clouded.

Swizz is a weird case, hes not a technical wiz, hes not the most musical guy as far as the end result, but he made it work. maybe some people think Wild Out/Down Bottom etc sound weak today, ill still stick up for those joints. he came with a whole new sound, and thats very hard to do.
