I came across this podcast series a few years ago and listen from time to time and figure I'd throw it out there. He has a podcast series called Smart Passive Income where he talks about making money online through various niche websites. Every month he puts out an income report where he breaks down the money he makes and spends from the various sites he owns.

IDK how true his claims are, but he has a pretty decent following and I figured some of the brehs could chime in on it.

Yeah he's into SEO heavy. I did some research on it a few years back but never really threw anything up to see what would stick. I know @Dirty said back in the day those sites were poppin but he thinks the gravy train is long gone by now. I've answered so many questions on IT certs on here that I figured I should make website talking about getting a career in IT, but I'm not sure how people something like that would be. Me and a friend was supposed to do it together, but he backed out at the last minute saying he didn't have the time. I'm still 50/50 on if I wanna do it or not though.....right now I'm focusing on getting my beard game right for the summer :patrice:

Yea the game is saturated but I think you have a unique enough niche that you could make it work. I think you'd have to research how many people are providing the content you're planning on providing tho.

The hardest part would probably learning the optimization, picking key words, ad placement etc. I guess writing would be too since you're the only one that has that knowledge.

The gravy train for SEO is gone because google updates their algorithm [Penguin, Panda] and sites that used certain SEO tricks tanked [backlink stuffing, respun articles]. Plenty of stories of people who were once killing it, went from 100 to 0 real quick. For example, AJAX used to get alot of preference in googles rankings then one day google switched it up and penalized sites for using too much.

Right now SEO really is about social media shares, actual rich and unique on page content [why every site has a blog now and utilizes alot of guest blogging] and all that.

If people are looking for easy internet money. Right now it's Instagram. All you need is the right content [fitness, memes, hot girl, scenery pics, vacation pics, etc] uploaded consistently [3-5 times daily] and the right tools [latergram.me/schedugram, followliker/instagress, justunfollow] and you can gain alot of followers in no time. With alot of followers you can sell shoutouts, promote products, do free giveaways and have people fill out surveys in order to enter, etc.

As far as Pat Flynn is concerned, I'll say this, there's alot of money in the "teach others how to make money niche". Idk what his deal is or if his earnings are true [didn't read and I probably won't read it], you just have to take what they say with a grain of salt.

His shyt involves starting real businesses though like house cleaning and lawn care services but you don't even have to leave your house:

I been following dudes site for about 2 years on and off..

Type in passive income in Google his site is the first to pop up..people looking to make or learn about passive income are led to his site.

He makes most of his money off of affiliate sales from people signing up for bluehost a hosting site where you make a site and have it up online in minutes ...they pay out 65 dollars per sign up .

It's Seo + affiliate marketing at it's finest :wow:
