Wasn't just the Internet that hated Pac :yeshrug:

I was gonna say. I was born in ‘90 so I really got on Pac a little after he died so I saw him as the ‘icon’

I remember my dad saying that people (a lot of black people too) really didn’t like him and radio shows did whole nights dissing him while he was in the hospital

:pachaha:My cousin and my other homie hit me up on threeway when Pac died. "I was like SO" lol, I was 13 them nikkas still bring that shyt up. Pac was awesome but down here in Birmingham dude was like GOD. And I thought the dude was just a brash and cocky loudmouth personally, his music was good. But obviously I wish breh didn't die. I was just pro Biggie at the time.

nikka was talking about fukking a folks girls and talking bout nikkas got sickle-cell. I couldn't rock with dude like that.

I enjoy these discussions because those who were in real time can really tell their view on how things happened,

Blacks back then supported the rappers, we would buy their CDs, go to their concerts, you would see us in their merch, posters on the walls of one's room. Back then Black folks were heavy into Hip Hop, your 5-30 year old, it was the center of many things that happened in Black society from your college parties, house parties, family reunions, those elements.

2pac received a lot of love from his peers, again that 'older' generation wasn't so much on his coattail as much.

Like in 2022 you have some 35 year olds - 45 old black men and women still bump your average rapper per say or R&B singer, back then in the 90s, those folks in that age range really didn't bump the rap music like that per say, You had some still that did, but many didn't compared to today's 35 year old - 45 year old.

You may have a 35 year old or 40 year old checking out the Migos latest album or they may listen to a Lil Baby album when it comes out, back in 95 or early you wouldn't so much have a 40 year old going to the store to buy a 2pac album, those folks were different back then, now they would listen to the singles on the radio etc, but I didn't see a lot of 37 year olds, 40 year old running to the store to pick up the latest 2pac album.

Only exception I may say is when he got out of prison and drop AEOM, California Love was everywhere in the summer of 96. I'm talking Everywhere.

It’s crazy seeing people talk sideways about Pac.

I remember my dad being upset about his death. Til this day my aunt his baby sister will say Pac is the greatest of all time

As I mentioned in my post, I would cosign this, I would break it down in a group that was the age of 35 and older crowd in black society. He has an interview with the ED Gordon dude from BET and you can sense that some of Gordon's questions were from an angle of disdain, that was a good interview by the way, 2pac really made me become a fan when I watched.
Again, more so of your older crowd wasn't feeling Pac, hell really none of the top rappers in a sense. Either they did not like the music, or they were listening to their own music, it was so much good music to vibe to in the 90s, the surgency of R&B, you still have the older R&B cats still making music, that crowd still have choices to choose from when listening to music.

Donny Simpson, who I wanna say was older when Pac was in prison, made fun of him while Pac was in prison. He made fun of dude on BET, live on air lol, 2pac stated this in that VIBE interview when he got out of prison, I wanna say he lowkey called out the black media and folks who talked down on him while he was in prison.

Man...if 50 died in 2005 right after the GRODT movie and soundtrack, it would've been an insane event for hip hop and the world as a whole.

Facts I talk to my boy about this if 50 dies after his first two albums if nas dies after it was written

If eminem dies after the eminem show if dr Dre dies after 2001

A lot of shyt gets re written if certain ppl are taken out at the artistic peak
