Every time Apple assimilates some feature a competitor had years ago its this whole "They're in trouble now we got this!" deal going on. Go back a couple years ago and what was Apple saying? "Users don't want phones that big." What were the Apple fanboys saying? "We don't want phones that big." Now what is Apple saying? "Bigger than bigger" and their users are rejoicing over bigger screens on phones.
If Apple has anything on Andriod its marketing and selling stuff to end users who become so feverishly loyal to their product that they listen to whatever that company says and accept it like it's Moses walking down from a mountain with the 10 commandments. The iPhone hasn't been bleeding edge tech since it's first couple iterations but it's users don't care about this because the transitional animations between apps are pleasing to the eye.
I don't buy into those fanboy talking points. to me iOS and Andriod aren't any better than each other. It's just that one is more flexable out of the box and one is more restrictive. Like I've said multiple times if you don't bump against the restrictions Apple places on it's devices then they're probably the greatest devices on the market to you once you want to do things Apple says you can't or shouldn't be able to do with your device well that's a different story.
