they're going to kill with this if the entry fee is low enough. Most iPhone users don't give a fukk about what power users care about.
Which is ass backwards. If that’s the case, go get a cheap Android. The fact that iPhone users are mainly concerned with a a blue bubble tells how damn dumb they are (as I’ve said recently, I’m typing this from a 13 that was purchased for me; with an 8 year old Android next to me running bots)

Some services do things like sign up for them for 2 years and they’ll reduce the phone payments from $20 to $5 so you’re tied to the service as well

No, I know. I misread the other guy's post. It sounded like they were financing their phone separately from the utility services for the phone itself.

When did phones become more than just phones?:francis:

When folks would rather put a fukking keyboard and mouse to it, instead of getting a computer like normal Chads:francis:. I'm old school. Just give me something with a data plan and I'm all for it. Damn the overkill nonsense that comes with getting a smartphone.

I mean they kinda already doing that anyway, most people I know with new IPhones are on payment plans paying their phone bill and for the actual phone
Exactly. This is just a blow to the phone carriers selling monthly payment plans (and possibly the banks if Apple partners with a bank to offer its own payment plans). Apple said that’s my food. :wow:

You’re absolutely correct. nikkas just wanna be obtuse though and make dumb threads. If you didn’t buy your phone cash, then you are already doing this every month. Apple is just saying you can do it with Apple directly instead of Verizon or T-Mobile. They already have the program where you can upgrade every year but your payments are still technically financing. This is just expanding that program a little. No news here.

phone companies already do this

its why most of yall bum ass nikkas are paying $30 per month for your phone

most people don’t buy phones outright

Apple is just cutting out the middle man

Here’s intriguing part: what’s to stop Apple from jacking up the sale cost to make that buy in full “option” not really an option.

How long will Apple be able to milk "new" products and upgrades that were implemented by Steve Jobs while he was alive?

I'm going in a somewhat different direction with this.

I think this may be a tune up to Apple rolling out its own network service.

Everything will be thru apple. Paying for the phone, and the services it provides.

So, instead of having an IPhone using Verizon, or ATT as a service provider, you'll be using an IPhone, while using whatever Apple is going to call their Satellite service.

Imo
That's actually incredible insight :ohhh:

On the one hand, I could see this since other companies have shown that it’s possible to operate a business just renting off of Verizon and AT&T towers. On the other hand, I always assumed that VZW/AT&T rented out the mid frequencies (or whatever the correct term is). I can’t picture Apple accepting mid service and I couldn’t imagine VZW/AT&T renting non-mid frequencies at a price at which a profitable business could be sustained.
