Agreed, I cant remember the last time I saw a full show where I felt that the lead couldn’t act and consistently took me out of the show until I saw this. It doesnt help that the rest of the cast wasnt that good either, Hood, Natalie, Zeke and you know who did their thing for the most part but the rest of the Hoods crew were trash
and she's a super genius engineer....so they decided that power had to come from the dark realm / dormamu? I don't even nitpick like that but it seems REALLY forced.
The constant theme of the show is that shes a genius but doesnt have the resources to do anything with her genius. So she used whatever she had, and what she had was just a
indestructible scrap of fabric of the hood
so she used it. I think they built it up properly. Theres a lot of criticisms of the show but I dont think this should be one of them, they established this theme within the first few sentences of episode 1.
They also properly establish that theres “levels” to being a genius, which is a thing in the comics. Tony could do his suit in a cave, Riri clearly needs more help than that. If they do Reed justice in F4, hell be the genius of geniuses going forward.
I feel that they pumpfaked in wandavision and are now regretting it and trying to make up for it here. As good as the beginning of wandavision was, the end they went with was CW level trash, we couldve been had the ball rolling in that show. They also fumbled the mutant reveal in that show and had to make that up in ms marvel..

You have maybe a day or so to run a Stark level iron man suit that can stay powered up during a prolonged fight with two superpowered dudes.
She can’t fly out of Chicago to get a Wakandan arc reactor. Reed doesn’t exist yet.
Her suit had been powered by sun and wind but she saw that Ezekiel’s bio suit electric attack zaps her battery. Magic is constant and she knew Zelma who could wield it.
I would move falcon up a tier. I would also move Ms Marvel up two tiers. That show was critically acclaimed, didn't stray a single bit from the source material of her origin which was also acclaimed. Only flaw in it was that they cast a chubby actress. Superheroes always have sex appeal. Its why there is a mandated shirtless scene for all the males. For some reason they try to ignore this with the females, and therefore make them less popular. Heroes are idols. peak humans. They aren't supposed to relatable everyday people. Spiderman start out a shrimpy nerd, but even he gain abs and lost the glasses after getting his powers. Stop trying to avoid casting attractive females, just to simply be body positive or whatever. The show flopped but it wasn't bad.
