I don't think so, I calculated mine at $1400/month. $400-500 utilities, $100 car insurance, $300 groceries, $200 cable, $80 phone, gas maybe $200. If I was stressing it, I could scale back on some stuff.

My 15-year mortgage is around $1600/mo for a 2-story in Nor Cal. Utilities and broadband is an additional $300 or so. If I could cut down on the weed and beer I could easily save $400/mo.

$1600 is cheap on $50,000 a year.

After taxes you're bringing in a minimum of $2600/month. So after all your bills are paid you got $1000 left over

Living expenses , going out, kids pre k, etc another 5500 to 6k a month.
