Yeah it's too late .. If you don't learn a skill set when you're a teenager young and full of dreams and ambition, you're never gonna learn it now,, it's time to hang it up old man,,

wes montgomery learned to play the guitar @ 20 and became one of the best ever

I say go for it. You might be a natural.
It's never to late. But You might have some problems with finger control when you start... just giving you a little warning.

I've thought about the finger control thing; I have a pretty good innate sense of rhythm and melody, but the muscle memory involved might be a setback

also the nerves in my right pinky finger are a lil wonky since I slashed the shyt out of it with a boxcutter when I was young, would that be a problem

Have you played an Instrument other than Piano or can you read music? That would help too.

I played trumpet and the recorder for a while in like 4th grade, didn't get good enough or do it long enough to read sheet music but I have a little understanding of musical notation and keys

It might be an uphill battle, piano is no joke . It takes a lot of mudane repetive exercises that are . If you don't mine doing that for a couple of months you'll be alright.

.....until at a black tie event she told her Dad I can play and he told me to go for it on his grand piano...
