I've been in HR for my entire post college life (15+ years).I think I'm the ONLY nikka on here who doesn't work in the 6 cert/IT field.
You work in the tech industry?Talent Acquisition
I've been in HR for my entire post college life (15+ years).
The 6 Cert/IT brehs are funny, but it's not the only way to make a decent living
32 and $250K from my day job. Plus an extra $30K this year off day trading while working remotely. Honestly not happy with how I spend my time though so not going to be on some BS like I’ve got it all figured out. Everyone above me in management seems to live a miserable life I want no parts.
150k at 32. I’m a broke boi![]()

If almost defies odds.

Embedded flight software engineer for a small government contractor (computer engineering degree). Talking 20 people. I did work for some larger aerospace companies but the small government contractors are willing to pay a whole lot more. I also charge on 2 different contacts which is an agreement the company owner and I came to to allow me to get this salary. I work 50-55 hours a week because of this as well but I work from home so it's whatever. 3-4 of those hours are dedicated to the coli
So yeah, I'm a worker, not a boss.
If you are in the DC area, BUILD YOUR BLACK NETWORK. I'm talking anyone with a black face. My company owner is a Haitian breh and I don't think I could swing this if this weren't the case.
The government contracting officer for my current project is also black (Morgan state physics grad) and I'm pretty tight with him. Same age as me so if I'm still around when my Haitian boss retires I'll either stay with the company if his son takes over or start my own company and get contracts with the Morgan state breh.
Wasn't the case when I was working for a consulting firm, but every time I went to the corporate side HR was heavily dominated by women.HR is a field I notice a lot of black women go into. are most of your peers black women as well in your experience?
