How did r and b producers get phased out?
and are there any that im sleeping on right now.
That's my main gripe with those examples is that those R&B beats sound too close to HipHop beats. Before, even when the R&b was influenced by HipHop, it was still easy to tell the difference between the two.
70's falsetto on fleekJust saw these guys in another thread.
that thickness @ 2:03those drums are too loud in he 90's
this ^^^^^^^Outside of R-Kelly, Donell Jones and some of the R&B groups both male & female.
It kills me to see so much great black music from the 70's & 80's being forgotten by this new generation.
I used to think the problem with r and b was the artists. But i think it's the production. we need real r and b producers back. The days of jam/lewis, la/babyface, teddy riley, b michael cox, rodney jerkins. How did r and b producers get phased out? and are there any that im sleeping on right now.
No, especially early 80's R&B was def still more close to the 70's cause it still had real instrument players in it.
The 90's R&B like New Jack Swing was more influenced by Hip-Hop.
I like the pure R&B better.
