Yes, but that 900 goes to:
400 takeout
300 phone bill
200 weed

20 bucks from Grandma so little Tony can get some lunch money.

Also...Child Support/Alimony doesn't count as income and it doesn't count as a deduction off under the new Tax code...always out to hurt the man....

Couples counseling should be mandatory before any child support IMO. I understand not every situation is salvageable but the gubment makes it so easy for our kids to be fatherless while nothing is in place to actually save a family.

Brooklyn!!!!!
Also w/e the mom qualifies for based on her income should disqualify her from extra payments as well.

For example if she’s on food stamps and they provide her enough stamps to afford food for her and her child per month than the father shouldn’t have to be responsible for it.
If she’s on food stamps or any other program, the state actually makes you put the non custodial parent on child support. The state is supposed to be responsible for your child, but not you?

 That would have be disappearing off of the face of the earth and appearing in some European or African city.

No way to live.
Word, but you'll probably love your kids too much to do something like that.

That's hell though. I think I'd have to live in a rural area just to have some sanity

The point is people keep saying "Daycare alone is 900$ a month".

If the child is in daycare, what is the mother doing? Presumably the child has been put in daycare because she is working which means she should pay half the fee.

If she is not working and with the child, that child is half her responsibility.

The time has come to stop throwing aside logic and a basic grasp of equality when it comes to women and money.
Well I think the issue is that is that some people look at child support as an adversarial thing between the mother and the father. I don’t doubt that it is in most cases but there seems to be this idea that the father should be released from certain responsibilities because he doesn’t have primary custody. So for example his child support shouldn’t help with lodging. So while I don’t disagree that she should cover half of the expenses, some people don’t think the man should cover half of them either. I mean you had someone in this thread say it’s should cover the bare minimum. Wild to approach it that way for your kid but maybe I’m missing something.

No it's not. There are alot if program that subsidize daycare and you only end up paying 50-100 a week so anywhere between 200-400 a month. Then you also have VPK by the time the kid turn 3-4 years old. But that is also depending on the area. I can understand why 900 in New York for child support wouldn't be enough though
