Where did this no sports talk stuff come from? I was raised as one and most of my paternal family are still regular attendees. Me and my buddies used to regularly talk about sports and the last time I was there they were talking about whether the Heat could make it to the Finals again.

Of course you can talk about sports in the religion, just can't talk about it in the hall or in field service.. well that's what they seem to imply the two times they addressed that subject. And as I said the first time, I seen a brother try and spark a conversation with another brother about sports in the coat hanger area at the hall and dude ignored him, this was a elder who was a friendly who talked about sports prior to that.

They did give kind of consul about talking about sports in the religion, one of them was trash talking to other JW when playing ball with them. I have NO reason to lie about what I saw and heard.

Dude must've been overzealous or had a serious elder matter on his mind. I'm not just saying they only talked about sports in general. I'm saying people talked about sports at those two places you mentioned too, even made plans to ball on the court during the weekend or later that day.

I'm not implying that you are lying I'm saying each congregation is different so no one's ever going to have the same experience. There's a lot of things that people interpret differently, for example it might bother some people's conscious to watch Star Wars cause of "The Force" while others will watch all six movies without giving it a second thought.

Just like that some will feel it's inappropriate to speak about sports or entertainment while some people will be friends based off liking similar teams or movies.

According to JWs, the world is spiraling downwards morally, but those of us who are secular look back in disgust at how man has used the idea that God was backing them to hurt others. We find that immoral.

Posters making random unsubstantiated comments in this thread in an attempt to defend JWs doesn't surprise me though because there are a LOT of black JWs that either grew up in the religion or have family that are in it.

A lot of baptized JWs don't even know the religion's seedy past and recent scandals so don't act like just because you went to some meetings or were called an unbaptized publisher that you're some Jehovah Witness expert.

There are pioneers (baptized Witnesses who spend 70 hours door knocking each month) who are ignorant to some of the shyt behind the scenes so you can miss me with that "you said something bad about JWs so you must be lying" bullshyt.
