I stopped taking those nearly two years ago....I used to be on fluoxetine and I'm glad I gave those up.
In my personal experience, taking organic herbs like mimosa tree bark (the best imo), kava kava, st johns wort and valerian root works wonders...they work just as good as any anti depressant, there's no side effects and you don't get withdrawal symptons when you stop taking them.
Also, like somebody else said meditation helps too. Find some classes that teach you how to do it properly.
I use to take zoloft for my anxiety and depression. that shyt sucked, made me feel like a numb zombie. plus I feel it made my social anxiety worse, not better.

whys you stop?
i need something to balance htis out, man.
im sitting my desk, leg shaking, fidgety, ready to just break my laptop or run or some shyt ...
i need something regulate me but i dont wanna be a zombie but it make feel better than how i do now
My anxiety is the real killer. I sit up all night anxious and worried about dumb shyt. It can literally keep me up until 5 a.m. when I try to sleep at midnight![]()
A change is gonna come.
Maybe you need talk therapy. Perhaps you have not processed the loss of your father.
WTF are you staying up worrying about all night? DON'T JUST SIT THERE; DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, NEGRO!!!
I have a friend on Lexapro. Made her hair shed a bit. Her problems are prolonged, but she still sleeps. Sometimes she doesn't eat enough and gets a lil underweight.A change is gonna come.
Nah that shyt is poison. Took some of that stuff in college for a month or so. Threw it in the bushes. I'm giving up weed soon for much the same reason. It doesn't just affect your depression, it affects every emotion you have. It makes you emotionally sterile, kind of apathetic to everything. And then, when you come off them, you find that you haven't dealt with the issue that was depressing you in the first place, you just suppressed your feelings through the drugs.
I cannot recommend them. People who depend on anti-depressants tend to stay on them for years. Instead, find what's bothering you, confront it, eliminate it, and grow as a person.
i'm on prozac, but it'll be a few more weeks till i notice any difference
i'm taking propranolol & hydroxyzene for anxiety.
propranolol is fukkin amazing. anybody w/ anxiety problems should try it. it shuts down all physical symptoms of anxiety, so it lowers your heart rate, no racing thoughts, that part of your brain that gives you negative feedback is shut off. feel like i can finally relax for once
