shyt, FAMILY and loyalty was the reason why the Organization stayed a float. How can you not forget that when D'angelo was about to confess, ESPECIALLY after the realization of the murder of Wallace that it was due to family loyalty that made him back down and toss the entire case on the Barksdale Organization to the bushes.

The MAIN person in the middle that disrupted it and finalized it by SNITCHING to the police on Avon was Stringer. Everybody else stuck together like glue. Fucckin' even Wee Bey ate charges for shyt he didn't even commit for the strength of loyalty and family.

Not true, you forgetting, MORALLY, people were getting killed unnecessarily at the hands of Marlo "sending a message", NO ONE died that didn't need to before D'Angelo dropped my man pre-introduction sparking the "Wire".

D'Angelo didn't give a fukk about nobody but himself, and had his mother in his ear, I think it was the "Worst Father Figure" thread where I named D'Angelo and people were diagreeing. I pointed out that D'Angelo was selfish, what made him selfish is that no matter how he painted himself a victim, he took avatage of the spoils while detesting his own family name. That's a weak ass nikka in my book...Stringer's book too.

....which brings me to my previous point, Stringer has foresight, and saw things before Avon did and tried to protect him they explain that in the "Chess board" episode. However, they also called Stringer a "bytch" because he held the king down, and "gets shyt done". As man, you can't help but respect every move Stringer made. Everything he did was justified.

Again ...Stringer knew that Avon would put family first and lay his life on the line and EVERYBODY else's to protect family, why would you WILLING go to jail for someone who isn't seeing straight? Especially after you built a multi-million dollar empire for and didn't ask for much in return but loyalty.

Again ...Avon bought all that shyt on himself, and while he's a good dude, a stand up dude, like I said, it's a "crisis of leadership"... Stringer was tryna get out and need Avon, and Avon was tryna stay in and need Stringer.

avon killed his best friend, who was simply trying to steer avon to a safer and more lucrative path. he drew unnecessary attention to his organization with his braindead obsession over marlo. stringer already told avon that marlo could keep the streets. they didn't need it anymore. they were already making money without the blocks. they had graduated beyond that, and avon was too dumb to see it. avon didn't have any intelligence or pride. he was just a glorified street thug who made it to where he was because of stringer's intelligence and shrewd navigation of street politics. yeah, stringer fukked up with clay davis, but that's to be expected of anyone who starts dealing with people you're not familiar with, especially a politician like that. but stringer still positioned the barksdale crew to do big things, and avon fukked it all up.

avon didn't try to save stringer. he was jealous of stringer. i've seen cats like avon before, dudes who see the smarter black man and start catching feelings because he's just a mindless ghetto hoodrat who doesn't have that intelligence. avon killed stringer partly because of built up resentment over string's abilities.
i was trying to get rid of that snitch when he had my nephew killed...but we got pass it and bow tie man told me it was him or me

Dudes ego was his downfall, which is most powerful peoples downfall. But he also had a bytch ass partner who didn't have his back for shyt and wanted to get corporate with street money and street tactics.

I was light years behind civilization because i JUST finished watching the Wire from season 1-5 a month ago and that shyt was brilliant
I dont think Avon was the worst black character because he was just an ignorant money hungry hustler- he represented a large percentage of the hustling nation

Now them dudes Marlo and Chris were certifiable characters ( definitely a few screws loose) and my favorite characters ( along with Bunk and Bubbles)

So you chose to not watch the best season in the show's history?
I just stopped caring Stringer's character was the best character, to me including daniels and mcnulty....That would have been like killing Walt whitman in the middle of breaking bad, because he's a central character. they killed him off too early plus his death was wack... If your going down he should have taken omar or the muslim with him.

THIS... this is a perfect example of what Avon was about. Brother Mouzone stated that this is about Avon's word being bond and if that word is STILL bond then his connects still have honor and respect. Stringer couldn't understand that and that's why he burnt so many bridges that lead to his own demise. And yes, Avon was STILL making a case to own up for Stringer's fucck ups and realized he had no choice in the matter.

No, what it is was, was a crisis of leadership, they were a TEAM and needed each other. Avon was "KING" and capturing the king is how you win the game.
As many people as Avon hurt, and with no other life skills, he couldn't do anything else. However Stringer was in the same boat, but it was opposite, Stringer was vastly intelligent but frustrated with his environment, most likely because of the way he grew up left him with no option but to concentrate on "surviving".
As he matured he realized he COULD get out of the game, but he had to play it smart. Avon tried to save Stringer, if he didn't give Stringer up, he would've lost everything. But the same fate was for Stringer, if he didn't give up Avon the whole organization would've lost everything.

To me Avon was the most honest and loyal person on the show overall, he didn't lie about who he was to know one.

Bravo!

I think the show sides with Avon. All of season 2 was about how things fall apart when stringers in charge. Remember when he called the Sunday shooting? He had no respect for the code of the street.

I chose Bodie over any of those other characters too. The Nikka had heart. I just hate how he (they did Wallace) sidenote: I sympathized with De Angelo. Just a Young nikka over his head in the game. But he had a good heart.
