Is Baltimore and DC culturally part the South or Northeast?

MD reallly is different from both regions it has similarities to both. A lot of people here have family in NC but you also have a lot of people like me who descended from slaves right here in the state. My roots are all here on both sides. In fact there's a lot of NYers who have family here from the migration. People forget MD was a Jim Crow state as well

Missouri had the same come up. It was a slave state and they actually considered southern even tho the state relies in the Midwest

DC and Chicago nikkaz have similar accents.
NO...they don't. And I've lived in both.

When the hell was DC or Maryland ever considered the south?
Up until recently, the main difference between DC/Bmore and Philly, NYC, and Boston was that the latter three had a more diverse ethnic white population. DC and Bmore to a lesser extent was way more in line with Southern cities.

Baltimore had a more diverse ethnic white population before white flight took place. There are ethnic enclaves in the city even to this day, though they are far smaller than they once were. Baltimore was the 2nd largest immigration hub after NYC.

DC was never an industrial city, so it didn't have less a mass influx of unskilled immigrants looking for work.

And Yes, DC and Chicago sound similar, though I think that the Chicago accent has more of a twang than DC.

Some say Mid-Atlantic and that may be perfect. I can't say its the south, but it certainly is not the North either. Honestly, Baltimore is kinda like Philly, South Jersey but a good amount of the people are country to me...so its has hearty dashes of the souF. And DC got hella country ass locals but it used to have its only flava. So i dunno. I been down here for a lil while, and I feel like both places are a blend of North and South, but have their own pace.

What's "country" about Baltimore?

Delaware has the perfect location if you think about:jbhmm:

It's smack dab between nyc and dc and close to philly. :jbhmm:

I'm surprised it hasnt been on the radar like that though

I could image making big return on investment in Delaware :ohhh:
I mean what is in Delaware? It's a lowkey state cuz it's small as hell. Although people Delaware got some bad broads down there.:patrice: I bets it's made cheap to live there but there is plenty of cacs tho.
