own a waste management company with my brother, and build properties on the side, before that i owned a club

That whats up I hope to be like you later in life bro.

Own something with my name on it.

Could you make some thread about your experience in building something of your own.

Focus on you.

There's a Pablo Picasso quote that goes something like

"My mother wanted me to become a doctor or a lawyer, then I started painting and became Picasso."

:skip:

If being successful is a scam.

what is being a failure the new
hustle?

:mjlol:

Seriously. Get into the mindset that there is nothing else to do with your life. Your success will be built on your thousands of failures. And that's the reality of success. Either you want it or you give up on yourself.

Stay hungry, my friends.

Read Mastery by Robert Greene. /thread

I highly suggest the black community read all this man's books and HUNT down knowledge. If you have the internet, if you have YouTube, I don't think there's an excuse.

The knowledge and the info is out there, everyday thousands of people are striving to make their life better than yesterday. Either your with it or your not.

if by success you mean rich and famous then you are correct. they sold millions of people this fabricated ass "rags to riches" story, but when you look deeper most celebrities have connections way before they're ever introduced to the public.

for example - prodigy from mobb deep. He claims to be a street dude from queens (even though he's from long island), but when you look at his family history shyt just doesn't add up...

Albert Johnson (born November 2, 1974), better known by his stage name Prodigy, is an American rapper and one half of the Hip-hopduo Mobb Deep with Havoc. He is the great-great-grandson of the founder of Morehouse College.

shyt legit had me :wtf: when i found this out. but when you look at a lot of these celebrities lives before they got on you see that they usually come from wealth and or status.

its about working smart, not "hard" and "setting yourself up to be lucky" not just waiting around to be "lucky" if you get what im saying, because luck is def a huge part. also, most people i find who aren't successful work "hard" but never really understand what all goes into the industry/field in which they want to be successful in ....just depending on pure "passion" to feel like they are owed something.
i also notice with black folks we have to think whatever we are selling or investing in has to be "cool" or we have to "like" it to fukk with it, while cacs/asians/arabs will invest in paper clip holders or some dumb shyt and not use it at all but make money off of it which allows them to invest in other shyt they actually like...
that being said saying success is a scam is weak nikka talk. make excuses to feel better about your life failures brehs :francis:

Depends on how you define success. Some people think having alot of money and power is success. Others feel having a close knit family and a comfortable surrounding is also. Everyone's version is different and you should take a path that will lead you to yours.

I'm just interested in learning about the world because everything I learned growing up was a lie and I'm struggling to cope with reality.

breh , don't believe all these backstories

one time i was at an award ceremony for my profession
and they started this two and a half minute run-up introduction
first 1:00 i was like "damn who is this motherfukker??"
from 1:00 to 1:30 they mentioned things i had been involved in
and i was racking my brain like "i probably worked with this person"
..it wasn't until about 1:45 that i realized they were talking about me
it was so gassed up i didn't even recognize myself:martin:

point being..
those biographies and backstories are clipped together like sportscenter
they don't show all the missed shots, foul balls, and incompletions

that's one problem with modern society
every story has to have a compelling backstory
if not, they make one up (or exaggerate)
