I'd say Wale, Charles Hamilton & Yelawulf are bigger flops then Keef...

Wale & Charles Hamilton had a *LOT* of hype * buzz when they first landed on Interscope. Wale put out a terrible label driven single. I remember I got to chop it up with him in ATL & he said that they wanted a radio single... but he said he wasn't really feeling Gaga & originally asked for M.I.A. to be on the hook but Interscope felt Gaga was the next big thing & put her on it...

Charles Hamilton got caught once too many times with that white powder so they were kinda pissed at Pharrell for bringing a loud mouth coke head through their doors & stopped caring about his project...

Yelawulf was a product of hype just like MGK... all this "next great white rapper" trash meant nothing when they both put out singles that didn't do shyt on Billboard. MGK did 300 shows in 1 year & couldn't push 75k first week... because he put out songs nobody cared about. J Cole did 300 shows in 1 year & put out "Work Out" which was a hit & sold over 200k first week. Yelawulf put out that bricked song with Eminem, flopped & we haven't heard shyt from him since...

People underestimate the power of a Single... it's a representation of your album... & if people don't like the Single then chances are they won't like the album...

Riaa.com... not wikipedia.

Yayo never went Gold. he's still hovering around cork

Rotten Apple was a complete flop, especially with all the hype around it at the time.

and i never compared 50 to Keef, the only time i even mentioned him is that he's one of the 2 interscope features on the album... and i did it in regards to his advance.

:heh: 50 Carried Interscope on his back...when Eminem was a far bigger draw than 50 ever was.

Breh, how 50 Carry Interscope on his back when he was signed a sub-label of a sub label ?

50 cent is the 2nd highest selling artist in the last 10 years behind Taylor Swift. :rudy:

This guy doesn't realize em did one album 2002 then 2005 than 2009. 50 was doing the heavy lifting during that period. Why you think he was Curtis interscope Jackson ?? Why you think they asked him to save games career when he was going to get dropped .

For clarification,

We're not talking about the artist who never got green lighted. Just the artists who saw a full scale push and release. Yelawolf's release was green lighted by Shady and was clearly not a priority for Interscope.

Charles Hamilton may be the first failed venture, but it goes without saying to say he was all-around one of the most talented artists to have such an opportunity. You can tell by the way he speaks that he has an extensive knowledge of music and his perspective reaches a depth that is not typical to most people in our society.

So much truth in this. Charles Hamilton has a vast knowledge of music and sound and he takes influence from the world around him. His catalogue of samples is insane and the majority of mixtapes he released on Interscope were fire. He apparently signed a 3 million dollar deal with Interscope. It's such a shame that a man who was made to make music got caught up by his demons so early before his career could even begin, he's such a naive idiot :snoop:

Chief Keef on the other hand is a talentless ignorant a$$hole that makes bullshyt music for people with half a brain cell. I take nothing but sweet sweet pleasure in seeing his career slowly make its way to the bushs :ahh:

hey gucci mane made a career out of abc special ed raps why can't keef? he is trash but this forum proves that theres people that are willing to listen and actually enjoy that trash.

this is by far interscope's worst flop just go by the numbers they gave keef 3 milli :mindblown: album sold 50k :russ: now lets just say they get $7-8 for every album sold that means they made around 400k back so they lost 2.6 million on the deal :snoop: now that's not including the promo money like the add's and every major website and the commercials that be running on MTV & BET so now they back to the -3 million mark. now keef being the young idiot he is has been out buying $300,000 cars left and right I say by march he'll be dropped and dead broke :deadmanny:

I can't understand why people have forgotten this. You now see people rushing out albums with no hits and then wonder why they don't do numbers. I think alot of it has to do with more rappers taking control of their own careers and labels doing less work.

Rick Ross could've easily went platinum with the right single this year, but he thought 1,000 videos and songs could make up for it. He was wrong.

Inside K. Michelle's Box

how much money did Interscope put into Keef tho?

all his videos are low budget, and shot by the same dude...the only video they set up for him, he never showed up to.

cats on here are forgetting that all types of cats have failed on interscope...even on Aftermath/Shady/G Unit.
